This section of the Home Office responds to operational demands of the UK
national security and law enforcement bodies for requests within the
Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act and the Intelligence Services Act and
maintain a close and effective relationship with the Home Secretary and the
Private Office of the Home Secretary – and other Secretaries of State when
required - to enable that role.
The role required:
◦ A comprehensive understanding of, and ability to, interpret requests from
law enforcement and the security and intelligence agencies within the
Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act and the Intelligence Services Act.
◦ Providing informative personal one-to-one briefings to senior Cabinet
Ministers about sensitive security and law enforcement cases – often
within extremely time sensitive operational timescales and demands for
law enforcement and national security case work.
◦ Negotiating, building trust and effective working relationships with senior
key stakeholders in operational elements of both UK national security and
law enforcement agencies at a local and national level.
◦ The role requires robust attention to detail and constant updating of online databases – often within extremely time sensitive operational
timescales and demands for law enforcement and national security case
work.

Key Achievements




During this time I was awarded a certificate of merit for work carried
out during the 2012 London Olympic Games – the largest peacetime
security operation in UK history
My work directly helped to this team being a finalist in the Home
Office's Team of the Year Award in 2013

Supplied oral and written briefings and reports about VIP security and
