A Coup In Monaco

Williams takes over the leaderboard.

In what was another stunning race in the Model
Formula 1 community, Williams managed to finally
make good on some of their pre-season hopes here
in Monaco this weekend, securing the lead in both
championships.
It was a race that saw red flags, many retirements, a
track Marshall injured, a botched pitstop on our
behalf, and many challenging moments, Williams still
managed a double podium.
The nerves began to build as soon as the lights went
out. Mercedes with their typical great speed
overtook Vettel into turn one, eliminating the
advantage of starting from Pole Position.
Hamilton made up similar positions right out of the
gate and was right behind Vettel for most of the first
leg of the race. But a botched pit stop saw him
coming back out in fifth place!

At this moment the fight was on. That is until a crash
involving Maldonado brought out red flags and a
restart. Our thoughts are with the injured track
Marshall and his family.
But at the restart Vettel took over the lead again,
Mercedes suffered an unfortunate retirement, and
Hamilton began making up a few places.
In the end, we were able to finish with a double
podium putting Vettel and Hamilton at the top of the
WDC race and Williams on top of the WCC standings
in front of Mercedes.
Celebrations could clearly be seen breaking out in
the pit lane after the race with the team ecstatic
about the results. Williams will still be aiming for
consistent results going forward but Monaco gave
good cause for optimism and excitement among

the team.
