A Southern Portuguese
Escape

A continent of wonders discover Europe
with the experts
We have a world full of wonderful and exotic holiday destinations clamouring for our attention
these days, but there’s no need to embark on lengthy journeys, and struggle through the
ensuing jetlag, to enjoy some of our planet’s most beautiful landscapes and most captivating
cities. Just a short hop across the Channel, Europe offers so much variety that the holiday
possibilities are virtually endless. In this new edition of our Europe brochure we feature a wide
selection of Titan tours and cruises to ever-popular destinations such as Italy’s sun-blessed
Mediterranean coast and the lovely River Rhine and some perhaps less familiar corners of our
continent, including the Adriatic jewel of Montenegro and the Arctic splendour of Greenland.
Spend time in the fabulous Italian cities of Rome, Florence and Venice, or step off the beaten
track and tour the spectacular island of Sardinia or Puglia, famous for its olive groves and
unique architecture. Alternatively, If river cruising is more your style, we have a variety of superb
itineraries on the Rhine or Danube, or you may like to join us on Portugal’s River Douro.
Closer still are the varied delights of our own country. Tourists come from all over the world
to our shores, attracted by our historic cities, ancient monuments, castles, cathedrals and
spectacularly beautiful countryside. From Devon to Durham, and everything in between, you
will find it all in the special UK Short Breaks section of this brochure, found on page 170.
As always with Titan, all our European holidays include the services of a knowledgeable tour
manager throughout and, of course, our inimitable VIP Home Departure Service.

W I N N E R

Though we create inspiring holidays for the love of travel rather than to win awards, it is always nice to be recognised
for the quality and value that Titan offers! And, in the last year, we have been very thankful and humbled to be awarded
some of the most prestigious accolades in the travel industry.
At a glittering ceremony in November 2015, Titan scooped a record 25 British Travel Awards - the so-called ‘Oscars of
the Travel Industry’, which attracted more than 1 million votes from UK holidaymakers. We took gold in 15 categories,
including Best Escorted Tours Holiday Company, Best Coach Holidays Company, Best Holiday Company for Customer
Service and Best Holiday Transfer Company.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported us in these awards.

Brochure prices and our price promise

SAVE up to

£2500pp

It’s been a longstanding Titan principle that
early bookers always benefit from the best
prices - this is what we call the Titan Price
Promise. Once you have booked and paid a
deposit, you’re guaranteed the best possible
price from that moment, and what’s more, if we
subsequently reduce the cost of your holiday
below what you’ve already paid, we will refund
the difference†.
The headline price on each tour page is
the lowest available for that itinerary. It does
not necessarily carry the maximum discount.
The strike-through prices in the date panel
represent our normal brochure fares.

† This guarantee applies to tour prices only (excluding
any selected loyalty rewards we may offer to past
travellers from time to time) and does not include
airline upgrades, holiday additions, extended stays,
regional connecting flights and selected special
offer products

In this brochure, both discounted and nondiscounted places are limited in number
and sold on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
When all of the places reserved at maximum
discount are sold, discounts may be reduced

or withdrawn entirely. When all of the places
reserved at non-discounted prices are sold,
prices may increase, even within the shelf-life of
this brochure. Prices will therefore be confirmed
at time of booking.

Guaranteed no fuel surcharges
It is comforting to know that, in 37 years, Titan
has never added fuel surcharges to the cost of
your holiday, even if it ends up costing us more.
Once you have paid a deposit for your holiday,
the price is protected from any supplements
or surcharges.

Pay in instalments
As long as the deposit is paid at time of
booking and payment completed 75 days
prior to departure, you are welcome to split
the holiday cost over as many instalments as
you wish. Ask your travel adviser for more
details, or log into ‘My Titan’ on the website
after you have booked your holiday.

VOX audio guides
On our European holidays
Sometimes the bustle of a European street or
the acoustics of a church can make it difficult
to hear the interesting commentary of your
tour manager or expert local guide. Sometimes
you’d like to linger at an attraction or exhibit
of particular interest, or perhaps wait for that
perfect photo, but end up hurrying to keep
pace with others. VOX audio systems are the
perfect solution, and Titan is introducing them
free on the majority of our European itineraries
in 2016.

Lightweight and easy to operate, with a
hygienic, single-use earpiece, these state-ofthe-art gadgets transmit every word of guiding
at a volume you are comfortable with, even as
you make your own explorations at a distance
from your fellow holidaymakers.
Look out for the words ‘VOX audio guide’
on the tour pages.

Travel solo but never alone with Titan
Dedicated departure dates for the solo traveller
We are delighted to introduce a number of dedicated departure dates for the solo traveller, for
the very first time, on a range of worldwide escorted tours, of which, two feature in this brochure.
Every one of these escorted tours includes a special welcome drinks reception on the first night,
and the majority feature double rooms for sole use, rather than single rooms. Whether you’re
exploring cultural treasures or winding up the day over a glass of wine, you’ll enjoy it more in the
company of a group of other solo travellers.

Which one will you choose?
■ Historic Malta - 21 September 2016

■ Grand Designs of Portugal - 11 October 2016

From your front door
to your front door
Many UK tour operators give little or no thought to your holiday journey but, here at
Titan, we have always considered the transfers to and from the airport to be amongst
the most important aspects of your holiday. Done right, they can preserve that
delightful sense of anticipation at the start and relaxation at the end.
Every one of our holidays† includes Titan’s
VIP Home Departure Service®, comfortably
transferring you from your front door to the
airport or port and back again. Titan pioneered
home transfers many years ago and our service
is still streets ahead of the competition, covering
every UK address‡ with no mileage limits or
supplements to pay.
Only Titan has its own fleet of well-appointed,
fully-licensed private hire vehicles designed
solely to get travellers to and from their UK
departure point. Our vehicles are all less than
five years old, valeted daily and serviced
regularly. Satellite navigation technology
helps predict and minimise the effect of traffic
jams and other disruptions, and the friendly,
uniformed drivers are in contact with our
control centre manned 24 hours a day,
365 days a year.
Though most journeys are not exclusive to
a single holiday booking, each VIP Home
Departure vehicle carries no more than six
passengers, allowing luggage room, the space
to relax and the minimum number of additional

stops on your journey - in fact, at time of
printing, more than 90% of transfers were
operated with four or fewer holidaymakers
in the vehicle. On transfers longer than three
hours, comfort breaks and complimentary
drinks are included.
Please note - throughout the year we
supplement our fleet service with quality local
private hire vehicles. We hold these companies
to our own exacting standards, and the saloon
cars that they provide must also be less than
five years old.

Tailor-make your journey

†Except the new range of ‘Traveller, by Titan’ holidays. ‡Except Scottish Islands and Sark, where vehicle access is restricted
- we invite those residents to nominate a mainland address for their pick-up. The majority of Titan’s VIP Home Departure
Service® transfers are not exclusive to one holiday booking and journeys to and from the airport may be undertaken via
additional addresses.

A comprehensive airport service at London Heathrow and Gatwick
Upon arrival at your departure terminal, Titan staff members in their distinctive and
instantly recognisable red uniforms meet your vehicle, arrange complimentary
porterage and stay with you through check-in, facilitating fast-track lanes where
possible. They will be waiting too upon your return, ready to direct you to your driver.

Free airport or port parking instead of the VIP Home Departure Service

P

If you would prefer to make your own way to the airport or cruise terminal,
we are delighted to offer free parking at Heathrow and Gatwick airports,
Dover and Southampton ports, instead of home transfers. Please let your
sales consultant know if you would prefer this option.

7

Fly from your local airport no travel company does it better!
We do not believe that people who live in northern England and the rest of the British
Isles should be disadvantaged by distance from London airports. With Titan you can
enjoy complimentary VIP home transfers (see pages 6-7) and the choice of international
flights from your local airport or free connecting flights to London. No other tour
operator offers regional flying options on every departure and every itinerary where
routings allow.

International flights from your local airport, still including VIP home transfers
Choose Titan and you can fly internationally from regional airports on around 50 itineraries.
Airports represented include Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle, Bristol
and Belfast, and you get the same door-to-door service regardless of your international departure
point†. Look out for details in the side panels of the tour pages.

OR
Free connecting flights from your local airport to London,
still including VIP home transfers
If you live in northern England, mainland Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the
Channel Islands, you can take advantage not only of complimentary home transfers to and from
a selection of regional airports (detailed below), but also free connecting flights to London‡. Titan
also provides complimentary onward transportation to Dover or Southampton for cruise holidays
departing from UK ports.

‡ Complimentary connecting regional flights to London are offered subject to availability at time of booking in our
designated airline booking class. Should this not be available, a flight supplement may apply. Titan airport representatives
and porterage assistance are not available at regional airports and customers will be responsible for their own check in and
porterage from kerbside drop-off.

The best tour managers
in the business
The passion for travel that inspires everything we do is perhaps most evident in the Titan
tour manager. This experienced, personable professional accompanies the travelling
group throughout, often from the UK, and provides great organisation to ensure that a
tour runs smoothly, and often also an introductory guiding service to destinations for
which they have great affection. Titan travellers, even those of a more independent
nature, come to hold their tour manager in the highest regard. Additionally, local guides
provide a more specialist insight into a particular attraction or experience.
Some Titan travellers have been known to base their holiday choice on their
favourite tour manager’s schedule! If you are tempted to do this, we have listed
below 2016 departures accompanied by two of our most acclaimed tour managers†.

“A lot of people think that tour managing is a cushy job …
that we just go on holiday for a living! I have to say that it’s
not quite that easy, but we do feel very fortunate to be able
to spend so much time exploring the world, discovering
its hidden gems and sharing those discoveries with Titan
holidaymakers. We recognise that every one of them is
unique, with individual reasons for choosing a destination
and personal travel dreams to fulfil - and we like nothing
better than to help make those dreams a reality.”

John Allen - Tour manager
Ron Disney - Tour manager

Ruth Wood - Tour manager

Former Managing
Director of a group
of independent
department stores, Ron
has worked exclusively
as a Titan tour manager
for the last 17 years. A
lover of travel and naturally good organiser
of people, Ron is an essential member of the
tour management team, a member of the
selection committee and heavily involved in
training to ensure that the next generation of
tour managers meet the exacting standards
required. He has also been involved in Titan’s
tour development and recently travelled
to Burma to inspect our new itinerary.
Ron has accompanied Titan travellers to a
number of destinations including the USA,
Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Hong Kong,
Malaysia and Singapore, but his favourite
country is Vietnam, where “the people are so
welcoming and the culture unique.”

Though relatively new
to Titan, Ruth has
travelled the world for
25 years. She considers
it both a pleasure and a
responsibility to deliver
unique and wonderful
holiday experiences for Titan customers,
particularly when they visit long dreamtof destinations with personal meaning for
them. Ruth likes Titan groups to have a
camaraderie and lots of fun along the way,
and she believes that we are never strangers,
only friends that have not yet met.

Ron is scheduled to accompany the
following departures in 2016:
■ Dubrovnik and the Dalmatian Islands
(20 May)

Ruth is scheduled to accompany the
following departures in 2016:
■ Venice Simplon-Orient-Express Venice and the Best of Tuscany
(18 August)
■ Italian Lakes with a Greek Islands
Cruise - visiting Corfu, Santorini
and Lake Maggiore (17 September)
†Tour manager scheduled departures detailed above
are confirmed and correct at time of going to print.
Whilst we will endeavour to avoid any changes, these
may be necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.
