ATLANTIC SALMON MUSEUM
5:30 - 7:30 pm (ticket sales)
7:45 pm - Draw
On Friday evening, February 19, Rita Swinimer
casually walked into the Museum and bought
a ticket. By the end of the night she had not
only won $149 for having that ticket drawn,
she also picked the Ace of Spades from the 33
cards remaining in the deck and immediately
found herself the recipient of $3,514.60.
Chase the Ace has begun again with a jackpot
that now stands around $1,400 (50 cards
remaining).
Why not drop down to the
Museum between 5:30 and 7:30 pm on Friday
night and try your luck? Note: You can also
purchase Chase the Ace tickets from the
Museum volunteers at Doaktown’s Independent Grocer every Wednesday but you MUST be
at the Museum at 7:45 pm on Friday night
when the draws take place.

In Memory
of a Great Boss and Friend
WALLACE (WALLY) O’DONNELL
Who Passed Away
on March 7, 2007
The Linesman
Upon the windswept cross arm
Where the wind blows wild and free,
A cowhide belt and a chip of steel
‘Twixt him and eternity.
When thunder pearls o’er the treetops
And lighting gleams on the hills,
It’s then his work is awaiting him
And he gets plenty of thrills.
When folks in houses cringe and shake
Before the storm has passed
He handles death at his fingertips
To make the hot wires fast.
One slip of the hand and he’s gone
To at least long days of pain
But let him out and sure as sin
He’ll be up a pole again.
There’s times when he holds in his hands
The life of a pal he loves,
And prays that he fails not in his trust
By a flaw in his rubber gloves.
For all o’ that he’s a common guy
And very much carefree,
And he’ll stick to you through everything,
Best pal you ever did see.
So sometimes in a thunderstorm
When everything goes black,
Just think of the poor guy working hard
To get those hot wires back.
~ J. C. Boulay

On behalf of the Central NB Nursing Home, its Board and staff, we would like to publicly
thank all those who contributed in any way to our extremely successful Sweetheart Supper
held at the Atlantic Salmon Museum (Doaktown) on Sunday, February 14. Owing to the
generosity of a number of corporate sponsors, the hard work of many community
volunteers, and a sold-out event, we were able to raise a total of $4,246.65, all of which will
go to purchase a variety of much-needed items for our new facility.
In particular, a sincere “thank you” goes to: the Atlantic Salmon Museum, the B & L
Restaurant, J. P. Carrier, Cole Clowater, Dianne Clowater, Lynn Clowater, Michele Gilks, Robert Gilks,
J.D. Irving, Ltd., Landmark Lodge, R. Jardine Insurance, Deven Munn, Kyle Munn, Alli O’Donnell, Mitchell
O’Donnell, Daphne Nippard, Sherri Robichaud, Jean Ryan, Trevor’s Independent Grocers, Trillium Flowers,
the Village of Doaktown, and Delmer White. Thank you, Everyone!

Presen ng the new Doaktown Community Arena planned for comple on in December
2016. Watch for more details in future issues of this Newsle er, or contact any
