My curiosity for design began after spending the majority of my
youth travelling South East of Asia, since then developing an
architectural career has always been an ambition. My passion for
travel has constantly driven my desire to craft spaces with delicate
dedication to culture and context.
I have had the chance to gain skills in a variety of disciplines
through my degree at an arts university, such as textiles, graphics
and model making, and the craftsmanship that belongs with each
whilst consistently relating this understanding to Architectural
design.
I have been working at Hampshire County Council as an
architectural assistent where i have learnt the importance of a
responding to social cause. I think that this ethos is present in all
the work that features in this portfolio along with evidence of my

passion for learning, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for design.

Many of the projects i have completed contribute to a continuing
narrative of safety which has formed the theory behind a project,
the border chronicals. The project began with an essay exploring
the theory of a sexist city. I developed a masterplan for Poole
which used plans for a new music school as a catalyst. Developing

and understanding of the role that gender plays in society and
the impact that gender can have on the interpretation of space
allowed me to challege city plans and architectural theories.

Pokesdown For Pokesdown saw three students work on separate research
projects which came together as a proposal for the regeneration of the area.
Pokesdown is known for its bespoke, vintage and antique shops, but has
lost its cultural and historical identity. The community forum approached
us as a way of seeking change for the high street and it’s reputation.
“We wanted to Pokesdown a ‘place’ instead of a ‘space’”

T H E S U B WAY P R O J E C T
Underneath the Wessex Way, the major road that runs through the heart
of Bournemouth you could have found a disregarded and unpleasant
subway. It was reported that families of children who attend the Primary
School adjacent to the subway, avoided the footpath in preference of
taking their car despite their close proximity to the school. The children had
been known to say they are frightened to walk through the subway, and
parents found the journey unpleasant. The project endeavoured to make
younger children and their guardians think and feel differently about this
previously dank and intimidating space.
