Background
My name is Mark Fletcher. I started Southern Frattire in January of 2011
while I was a sophomore in college at Virginia Tech. As a full-time student, I had
limited time to devote to the business. Therefore, I decided to take a semester off
from school to really get things going. I designed all of the t-shirts in Summer of
2011 and had them produced early in the Fall. I built my own website using
Volusion’s e-commerce platform and it officially launched on November 12, 2011.
My brand showed great promise, as I received 50 orders for 95 items during the
first 45 days of its existence. My product selection was and still is very limited – it
consists of 5 different t-shirts and 4 colors of can koozies. I feel very confident
that the right person (or company) with a decent amount of capital could really
hit a homerun with this brand. As a college student, my resources were very
limited both time-wise and financially.
In early 2012, my company continued to make greats strides, as I secured a
large order from my second retailer – Walker Brothers in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
They purchased over $1,000 worth of t-shirts and then placed a second order a
few weeks later. However, I failed to build my retail clients at all from there
because I had returned to school as a computer science student and barely had
any time to pursue new opportunities. From this time forward, I had less and less
time to devote to the business and as a result, sales declined significantly. I have
decided to sell my business because I have other interests that I would like to
pursue. However, the right person or company could make this brand
tremendously successful.

PROVEN SUCCESS
My website launched on November 12, 2011. Keep in mind that this a one man
operation ran by a full-time college student. During the 45-day time frame
between 11/12/2011 and 12/24/2011, my website sales were at their highest
because I was not enrolled in school at that time and had more time available for
advertising efforts.
