ALLIES & ORGANIZATIONS

Grunund was born in the city of Tholboldahor, located in the
Boldor mountain range. Tholboldahor is quite possibly the
most known dwarven city across the world due to their one
main export: Dwarven beer. The beers from this city are
considered some of the best in the world due to the high
elevation wheat and hops put into the beer, as well as the
spring water flowing through the mountain, which is believed
to be the best tasting water. The mountain range is close to
the Gwardian river(which connects to the Valordian Ocean),
which allows the beers from this mountain to be easily
shipped across the world. There are 4 main brewer clans in
the city, the Beersmiths, the Oaklegs, the Goldenbeards, and
the Drunkenfists. Of these clans, the Drunkenfists are the
most known for their two main beers, Boldor Ale and their
Mountainrock Lager. The popularity of these beers across the
world has allowed the Drunkenfists to have connections in
almost every main city. The Drunkenfists have a reputation
for being very generous, as during the wheat shortage two
decades ago, wheat was distributed with the beer shipments
to provide food to hundreds of thousands of people.
Grunund was born under Dain and Amber of the Drunkenfist
clan. Dain was a 14th generation brewer who had become a
master brewer 15 years before Grunund was born. From
birth, Grunund had learned the skills to become an expert
brewmaster. From this young age, he was able to travel the
world to deliver beer as well as create connections for the
guild. During this time, he became attached to one of the
guilds hired mercenaries, an elven wizard named Daegolor.
During these trips, Grunund learned that he was sensitive to
the magic flowing around him, and learned how to begin to
control it with Daegolor's help. Once the guild learned of
these lessons, however, Daegolor was forced to leave. As a
gift, Grunund was given an Orb, which acts as an Arcane
Focus. While Grunund was working for the clan, he learned
how to become a wizard, spending time in taverns trading for
scrolls and meeting other wizards. At 40 years of age, he
began training to learn to become a full brew-master. At the
age of 50, Grunund was given his name by the Drunkenfist
clan elder, establishing him as a full member of the
Drunkenfist guild. He had learned the secrets to creating the
ultimate brew, yet he felt he could improve it.

As an established and respected member of a guild, you
can rely on certain benefits that membership provides.
Your fellow guild members will provide you with
lodging and food if necessary, and pay for your funeral
if needed. In some cities and towns, a guildhall offers a
central place to meet other members of your profession,
which can be a good place to meet potential patrons,
allies, or hirelings.
Guilds often wield tremendous political power. If
you are accused of a crime, your guild will support you
if a good case can be made for your innocence or the
crime is justifiable. You can also gain access to powerful
political figures through the guild, if you are a member
in good standing. Such connections might require the
donation of money or magic items to the guild's coffers.
You must pay dues of 5 gp per month to the guild. If
you miss payments, you must make up back dues to
remain in the guild's good graces.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES & TRAITS

This desire to create the ultimate beer is what led Grunund to
leave the mountain and search for the ultimate ingredients
and methods. Knowing that the Drunkenfists could continue
to produce the highest quality beer, the Drunkenfist elder
allowed Grunund to proceed with this expedition, and
provided him with supplies and some money (50 gp).
