Recess and Room Four Party Information
Chef Greg will prepare a tasting menu inspired by the freshest seasonal ingredients. The
typical Recess /Room Four tasting menu will begin with a soup or salad followed by a fish
course, a meat course and finished with a desert. Due to his commitment to serving only the
most superlative ingredients, chef Greg does not decide on the exact details of the menu
until days before the event. However, you may choose a preferred protein, such as chicken,
lamb or beef. While the choice of fish is also dependent upon the season, salmon and
certain varieties of white fish can usually be sourced year round.

can provide examples of past menus upon request.

Wine pairing, vegetarian and vegan options are also available upon request.
As a seasonal restaurant, featuring local, fresh ingredients, we cannot guarantee the
availability of items for your event until one week prior. Please note that ingredients and/or
accompaniments, and pricing are subject to change.
Recess/Room Four boasts one of the most extensive and carefully curated wine lists in
Indianapolis. We can provide wine pairings carefully chosen to compliment your meal. We
also offer a selection of cocktails, as well as soft drinks and sparkling water.
If you would like a particular bottle of wine that is not currently on our wine list we would be
happy to order that wine for your event, though an additional fee may apply.

About the chef:
Greg Hardesty, a native to Indiana, is a four time James Beard award semifinalist, eight year
veteran of Taste of the NFL, and the subject of numerous publications in the New York Times
and USA Today. He is one of the most accomplished chefs in Indianapolis and is continuously
elevating and inspiring the fine dining scene.
Minimum pricing per room:
Room 4 = 1500$ Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Room 4 = 2500$ Friday and Saturday
Recess = 4000$ Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Recess = 6000$-8000$ Friday and Saturday
Price does NOT include tax and gratuity
Price is subject to vary according to the number or guests as well as the cost of ingredients.
For example, a menu that features caviar and steak will be more expensive then a menu that
features salad and chicken, though any menu will be flavorful and delicious.
The Space:
Recess/Room Four is located at 4907 N. College Ave., at the intersection of College Ave and
49th St.
Room Four provides an intimate yet hip space, perfect for special family events and office
celebrations alike. Tables can be arranged or removed according to your needs.
Recess is a fun and flexible space, with an open floor plan and plenty of edge. As with Room
Four, tables can be arranged or removed according to your needs.

Room Four


Max Occupancy:
Room Four = 25 seated, 40 cocktail reception & hors d’oeuveres
Recess = 55 seated, 75 cocktail reception & hors d’oeuveres
Full restaurant buy-out 85 seated, 100 cocktail reception & hors d’oeuveres
There is a parking lot directly in front of Recess/Room 4. There is also ample and free parking
along the street and across the street on the northwest corner of the intersection of 49th and
College Ave.
Audio & Visual:
Projector and screen available for a $50 rental fee
Music player hookup is available at no additional cost
Available for private events of 50+, and scheduled at a mutually agreed upon date. Tastings
are typically held within six weeks of event date, due to seasonal menu changes. Tastings are
available for up to 2 guests. Tastings may be scheduled Tuesday – Friday between 5:30pm6:30pm.
Cancellations of parties must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event or the
minimum guarantee will be charged. Contracts must be signed to guarantee reservations
