League of the Rings Fantasy Football Rules: 2016 Edition

League Information

League is hosted on ESPN.com
The 2016 buy-in is $50. Purse is $600.
o   First: $400
o   Second: $125
o   Third: $75


Scoring for WRs, RBs and TEs is done with decimals. 1 receiving or rushing yard = .1 points. 10
yards = 1 point.
Scoring for QBs/Kickers/Defense & Special Teams is ESPN standard. However, kickers also get -1
for missed extra points.
We run 0 PPR. A vote for .5 PPR is being put up for league review in summer 2016.
Tiebreakers: in case of a tie game (rare in decimal scoring), the winner is decided by total bench
o   Playoff seeding tie-breaker: the better seed in case of a tie goes to the team with more
total points in the season.

Starting rosters consist of:
o   1 QB
o   2 RBs
o   2 WRs
o   1 TE
o   1 FLEX (RB/WR/TE)
o   1 D/ST
o   1 Kicker
Benches consist of:
o   7 slots for any players.
o   1 IR slot for injured players.



The waiver system used is consistent. When a waiver claim is used, the person who used it goes to
the back of the line (12th). If you do not use any waiver claims, you stay in place or advance ahead
in line if people in front of you use theirs. This is done automatically by ESPN.
There is no limit to waiver claims.


The trade deadline is ESPN standard: Wednesday, November 23rd at 12p.m. noon EST.
The trade limit is set at 15. This is well over one trade per week with the trade deadline. Nobody
reached this total in 2015.
Trading back and forth:
o   Two teams cannot trade the same player within a four-week window. For example, if
team 1 trades Kevin Faulk to Team 2 in week 1, they cannot include him in any other
trade deal between the two teams until week 5 begins (Monday of that week). This
prevents potential collusion between two teams. Teams are welcome to acquire a player
and trade him to another team right away.

Veto System

Any trade will be put up to league review in the GroupMe chat. If the trade gets 6 vetoes (out of 12
players) it will not go through.
If a trade is accepted by league members, the commissioner can push it through as quickly as
The commissioner still has the power to veto any trade if he notices foul
play/something wrong. He cannot use this to his advantage.


League of the Rings uses an online draft on ESPN.com.
The format of the draft is Snake. Teams 1-12 pick, then 12-1, and so on.
Every team gets two minutes (120 seconds) per pick.
Draft pick trading: TBD.
