The Wellhouse Capital Campaign
Friends & Supporters of The Wellhouse,
We are so excited to share with you all that is happening at The Wellhouse! We are
heading in to our second year in this location and have been working hard to grow many
new programs for the families we serve.
A few of our providers moved on to new things at the end of our first year, which has
opened up several new challenges and opportunities for growth. Of course, we will
continue to offer our nonprofit services through Open Heart Doula Services including
childbirth education, birth and postpartum services to Knoxville families, while specializing
in services for vulnerable women in our community.
We will also continue to offer chiropractic care from Jerviss Family Chiropractic, studio and
family photography from Southern Charm Portraits, and adult counseling services from
Desiree Williams of Forward Path Counseling. We will also be adding massage services
from the talented Tara McIlrath.
We are also THRILLED to introduce our new WellKids and WellMama programs, offering
low-cost enrollment THIS FALL for dance lessons, fitness classes, karate, and more. We
have added many new classes and support groups, including a free postpartum depression
support group, Mothering Together - a topical chat group just for moms, and several
others that you can find on our brand new website on the calendar. You can find all of that

Our growth this summer puts us in a very exciting position; however, due to a couple of
last-minute circumstances regarding our renters (the source of our regular income), we are
finding ourselves in a serious shortfall for the month of July. We know that many of you
hold our vision for The Wellhouse close to your hearts, and we desperately need your help
just to get us through July. In addition to this need, we are working to construct a fenced
in area to protect children in our new backyard play area (a project that has already
begun), adding some new furniture that we desperately need for some of our rooms, and
doing some classroom renovations to accommodate all of the new classes that will
include a large mirror and some bench-style seating along one wall. For many of these
projects, we need to raise extra funds to complete the necessary upgrades.
We are asking YOU to help us by making a donation of $25, $50 or $100 towards our capital
campaign over the next few weeks. You can make a great impact in the lives of women
and their families by helping us to build a strong community of much needed services and

children in pregnancy or shortly
after birth. We will use this training
to incorporate a new program to
serve these families.

enrollment for a half or full year of

child or mother in the class of their
