Introduction and Welcome

BSON,
GRAHAM RO
ESIDENT
HONORARY PR

Once again, I am delighted to welcome every TR enthusiast to
what looks like being an action-packed weekend in Lincolnshire.

If only I was a fully qualified showground
salesman who could shout his attractions and
unrepeatable offers through a megaphone, I
reckon that this year’s International Weekend
deserves that sort of treatment. Quite simply,
the site is new to us, there are many new
activities, and a full-blown track day to start
the proceedings. No glossy dinners, and why
not? Because you let us know that you didn’t
want them.
So, informally and with great joy, I want to
welcome you all to the Lincoln Showground, to
the event-opening track day at Blyton Park, the
chance to visit the legendary RAF Scampton
airbase just up the road, the chance to meet
up with old friends, make many new ones, and
to catch up on all the ‘wants’ which built up
in your garages during the winter. Don’t miss
the opportunity to see and participate in the
Standard-Triumph Marque Day, which is to be an
integral part of our IWE activities on the Sunday.
Based on the modern Lincoln Showground,
this promises to be an action packed weekend,
not only because we are expecting to
welcome a record number of TRs (and, on the
Sunday, hundreds of other types of Triumph),
but their owners and their friends too. My
recommendation is that you book early, set out
your personal schedule well in advance, then
consult other sections of this guide to show just
how much you can fit in. These include:
A ‘Novice Track Day’ at Blyton Park, which
is an ex-RAF airfield site just 15 miles north of
the Showground. Full arena activities in the
Showground including displays, interviews, a big

variety of trader stands offering the goodies
you have been seeking all year, and maybe
your chance to show your own cars in the
Survivors Display.
But there will be so much more, including a
series of Technical Seminars, a series of coach
trips to Rimmer Brothers (whose premises are
on the other side of Lincoln), also into Lincoln
for anyone who wants to go shopping and
sight-seeing, plus the traditional Overseas
Visitors’ reception before close of play on the
Saturday. If we are lucky, we may see the Red
Arrows display team, whose home base is at
RAF Scampton.
All this and - Oh Yes - a band and disco on
the Saturday evening, a photo session where
you might get a souvenir of your car and
yourself (but we’d like you to dress ‘in period’
for that ....), and to make sure the weekend gets
off to a great start, the beer will be free on the
Friday evening ....
Wayne Scott and I will be manning the
microphones throughout the weekend and
somehow trying to keep everyone happy,
well-informed, and looking forward to the next
movement in this ambitious event. For sure,
we are looking forward to it - and we hope you
are too.

Showground Information
For your safety and the safety of others, it is a condition of
your entry to the showground that you obey and adhere to
the rules and requests in the programme and those which
may subsequently be made by Police, security staff, site
safety, fire personnel, and the TR Register officials (staff
and Directors).
Wristbands must be worn at all times.
CAR PARKING AND DRIVING
No car movements will be allowed within the campsite
area between 10.00pm and 08.00am. This will be strictly
enforced by site security. There is a dedicated parking
area within the showground where late arrivals can park
until the morning.
Site security will enforce the speed limit of 10 mph
throughout the site.
A one–way system will be in operation within the
showground to protect the safety of all pedestrians.
Please follow the signs.
Note too that the whole Showground area is a place
to which some Road Traffic Laws apply, particularly
those concerning the consumption of alcohol and
driving.
CAMPING
All campers are expected to behave in a sensible and
responsible manner and show due consideration for
other campers and showground neighbours at all times,
particularly in respect of night time noise.
The camping area has been divided into just two
sections: Noisy & Quiet. Within the Noisy section there
is a dedicated spot for the Youth Group and the young
at heart to party until dawn without disturbing those
of us who need our beauty sleep. Similarly within the
Quiet section there is a section designated for those
who really do like their peace & quiet.
Electric Hook–ups are available (pre-book only by
the 6th July 2016) throughout the campsite with the
exception of the ‘Ultra’; quiet area, due to no electric in
this area.
Please note that:
1. Dogs are welcome throughout the showground
providing they are kept on a lead and owners clear
up any mess they create.
2. Barbecues and dedicated fire pits can be used
PROVIDING they are on legs and not on the grass.
Disposable barbecues are strictly forbidden due

4

to the fire risk and site security will immediately
confiscate any found and extinguish them.
3. Small gas/gaz stoves are fine providing they are not
on the ground but large propane cylinders are not
allowed.
4. No LPG or Gas Barbecues allowed on site.
5. Fire represents a very real hazard to campsites and
so for safety reasons tents should not be pitched
close together. It is a health & safety requirement
and condition of entry that tents should be spaced
at least 3 metres apart. There is plenty of room. Fire
and Site Safety marshals will ensure the 3 metres
space is maintained and will be available to provide
advise if required.
6. The use of fireworks and Chinese lanterns is strictly
forbidden.
7. Electric hook ups must be pre-booked, by the 6th
July 2016.
8. The camping area will be available from 14.00 on
Friday 15th July until 21.00 on Sunday 17th July.
9. Please note that while normal tent pegs are fine,
groups should not use long metal stakes in the
camping area as there are buried cables in some
places.
10. Security has been advised to take appropriate
action in respect of unnecessary and unreasonable
noise levels. Should any reasonable requests be
ignored, then those responsible will be required
to leave the showground, with Police assistance if
necessary.
FIRST AID/EMERGENCY
Emergency First Aid staff will be on site 24 hours a day
throughout the weekend. They will be located in the
First Aid post. The site wide emergency number is:
Tel: 07909 181 999
In the event of a medical emergency contact the
First Aid post. In the unlikely event that there is no
response then call 999. In case of fire, telephone
999 immediately. The Emergency Services should
be directed to THE MAIN Gate at the Lincolnshire
Showground that will be permanently staffed by
security throughout the duration of the weekend.
Inform the Gate Staff as soon as possible.
FOOD AND DRINK
There will be a number of mobile catering vans on the
site during the weekend. Also the restaurant upstairs
in the Epic Centre will be open for the whole of the

show. Last food orders on Friday and Saturday will
be 21.00hrs. They will start serving at 7.30am on both
Saturday and Sunday with breakfasts. There will also
be a bar in this area. A second bar will be downstairs in
the Epic Centre where the evening entertainment will
be held and will only be open during the evenings.
INFORMATION AND MEMBERS SERVICES
This will be located in the Foyer area of the epic centre
and open Saturday 9.30 – 17.00 and Sunday 09.30 –
16.00. You will find information about the TR Register
and the show here, along with Regalia. We will also
have maps of the area and local information about
places to visit in and around Lincoln.
The club Registrars will be at the show to answer
questions, collect detail of your cars or just have a
friendly chat amongst the TRs. Their details will be on
the Registrars board, just leave them a note and they
will contact you.
SECURITY
The Trade Hall and Concours D’Elegance display areas
will be locked outside of trade show hours. No entry
from members of the public will be permitted until
the official opening on Saturday and Sunday morning.
Security guards will be on duty inside the hall and on
the showground throughout the weekend.

although users may experience fluctuations in signal
strength from area to area.

into Lincoln. The Courtesy coach will leave from The
Bus Stop. The morning service will be 10.30 returning

stand will be in the Exhibition Hall. All proceeds from
the Bring and Buy will go towards the running of TS2.

Autojumble pitches are available to members for
private sales (not Traders); these are free for members
selling a small amount of Autojumble, but if an extra
pitch is required there will be a charge of £10.
Trade show hours are 09.30 – 17.00 on Saturday and
