Hi,
Like we discussed here is some of the recent stuff.
What is said by Emmanuelle and Neil and Jessica (in another emial that I'll fwd you in
a couple of minutes) is 100% untrue. We all know it and so do former CSU slate NEC
individuals like Ryan Kelly. Emmanuelle did supply us with print-outs from InSite
during the voting. Most of the time Emmanuelle would tell us orally about the current
voting counts for the candidates. We made targets based on this and we were really
pushing in the last couple of days to get votes to beat Maureen Collins. We always
knew how many were needed.
A few of us spoke about how we felt uncomfortable about this even Ryan Kelly who left
afterwards. I think he was stressed out about what was going on. Some of us, not many,
still know it was wrong. I have given an interview with the invetigator George Nadeau
and told him about my first hand experience with this. Emmanuelle knows that I didn't
feel it was right and I sort of pushed back at the time. Most of us have just been
silent because we don't want to be backing up her lies anymore but some, like Neil and
Jessica, really drank the kool-aid and are her supporters.
Please take out the bottom part underneath this if you are going to post it to social
media. I need to explain it more clearly to you.

I did not suply any information to the slate, and this was the whole point of Jess's
message. Could we just let the investigation run its course instead of letting
anonymous sources dictate what is true and what is false?

I do, Emmanuelle. :)
For a number of reasons, but primarily because Ann didn't use the voting-in-progress
info that you were accessing from Insite and supplying to the Slate.
Otherwise, I'll let Ann speak for herself.
Cheers,

Maureen

Maureen,
It appears as though Ann did not simply like your Facebook campaign page. The email
below is clearly an endorsement of your candidacy sent by Ann in October (one month
prior to the ballots even being sent! – emphasis in yellow is mine). In light of that,
do you still have the same interpretation of our Constitution and Bylaws?
Emmanuelle
Dear Fellow CAPE members,
I hope you are well and enjoying the fall season!
The electronic vote for the NEC by-election will be in November after the AGM. I am
sending you this message today to give you time to read the information from the 3
candidates.
There will be speeches from the 3 candidates at the AGM.
Here are the AGM details:
http://www.acep-cape.ca/en/news-events/cape-meetings-and-activities/annual-generalmeeting-agm/
I support and will vote for Maureen Collins. She has experience with CAPE National
issues, has committed her time to the Collective Bargaining Committee, is reflective
and fair in her thinking and very well spoken. She is bilingual too!
If you will support her too, please circulate this message to non-work email addresses
please.
Her official information:
"Maureen E. Collins Bio/Platform CAPE NEC EC By-Election
In the current economic and political environment, it is crucial that CAPE members
have both impartial, accurate and timely representation and information. This is the
perspective I espouse and will continue to act from on behalf of the CAPE membership.
I AM: Representing union (CAPE, NSGEU, and OPSEU) members, intermittently as
employment permitted since 1991, as an active member and a Steward with all three
organizations, and currently a member of the EC Collective Bargaining Team. Working
directly with families, children and women from a social justice, multicultural, and
community development program perspective from 1994-2008 (NGO, F/P/FN) and a similar
policy perspective from 2008-present (HC, CBSA, AANDC and CIC). Volunteering in a
range of capacities locally, internationally, and collectively, and typically on
behalf of children and families, since 1988.
I WILL: If elected as an EC NEC member, work collaboratively within the NEC structure
to ensure that the best decisions are made for the collective membership on the basis
of the collective need and will. "
You can follow her on Facebook: https://m.facebook.com/MEC4NEC
Please exercise your right to vote both on Oct 19 for the Federal Election AND vote
when the NEC by-election e-vote comes to you.

My Best
Ann

Neil and Jessica,
It is now known that you made use of the ongoing voting results obtained by
Emmanuelle, via Insite, on your behalfs. That was wrong and, no matter how you color
it, negates your arguments about how this was all okay.
Futhermore, as you well know, there is an implied endorsement when a NEC member
campaigns on behalf of a particular candidate. That violates both the Constitution
which clearly states that as a member of the NEC you represent ALL of the membership
and the decisions re endorsements. It also flies in the face of the principles that
the Slate purports to represent.
Finally, Jessica, I did not ever request campaigning on my behalf by any member of the
NEC (and I'd be surprised if anyone thought Anne's 'liking' my fb page qualified as
same).
Jessica, I do concur on one point; no need to argue this further by email.
Regards,
Maureen

Maureen,
We never made a secret of the fact that we were campaigning, nor is that against the
rules. We had read the literature on get-out-the-vote and were very scientific in our
approach. We set targets, counted supporters, and broke down the membership by
Department - just like we had done for the general NEC election. We looked at turnout
from previous elections and estimated margins of victory. Anyone who knows about
campaigning is familiar with these techniques. There was no effort to steal the
election - just to win it. And of course we were unsuccessful.
Neil

Subject: Slate emails
So, folks, these were sent to me anonymously.
Very interesting reading, given that they discuss activity that is counter to
decisions made at the NEC table and by the ERC re endorsing candidates. Particularly
so, combined with some of the other correspondence that has been leaked in the past
month or so.
This certainly leads me to think the results of the investigation will be most
interesting, irrespective of rumoured non-participation by some of you.
Regards,
Maureen
