THE CHURCH

AT

BRICKELL

REACH. DISCIPLE. SEND

REACH BRICKELL
REACH THE WORLD

Why plant a church in Brickell?
The Brickell district of Miami is the financial district of this metropolitan city.
As a center of commerce most people here thrive on independence. Everything
here is revolved around the individual. With having everything but community,
the Gospel need for Brickell is great. There are only 4 evangelical churches in
the area of Brickell and over 50,000 people. Meaning there is only one church
for every 12,500 people.
 One of the fastest growing financial areas in the country characterized as the
“Wallstreet of the South.” So we’re reaching out to influential people who are
often unreached (http://forbes.com/sites/scottbeyer/2015/05/07/welcome-to-brickellmiamis-wall-street-south)

 Brickell is a very transient area, filled with people from all over the world, which
brings many different cultures and ethnicities allowing us to reach the nations .
 4th largest dense community with lots of people. But no one is connecting to
those in the community and relationships lack authenticity.

Our Church
DREAM STATEMENT
building a Gospel centered community that is transformed
by the message of Jesus Christ in Brickell, and through itthe world
CALLING OF OUR CHURCH
to reach those in Brickell with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, disciple
them into growing believers, and send them out for the glory of God

REACH. DISCIPLE. SEND.

Core Values
Gospel: The Gospel is that we as humans are broken and sinful and that there is a God who
is perfect and holy. Because of our brokenness, we cannot have a perfect relationship with God.
But the good news is that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived a perfect, sinless life and was
crucified for our sins to satisfy the wrath of God. He was raised to life to defeat evil and sin and
to set us free and save us as broken and sinful people. Forever we will live with him after this life.
Romans 3:23, John 3:16

Community: Because of what Christ has done for us, we believe that we have been
called to live in community as believers. The community of believers is known as the church and
is characterized by fellowshipping, worshipping, and sharing in faith and life together. We also
live geographically in communities within our city. We believe it is our responsibility to reach
these communities through personal relationship and service in order to reach them with the
Gospel.
Acts 2:42-47

Discipleship: As we strive to reach our communities with the Gospel, we are called to
make disciples. A disciple is a person who has surrendered their life to Christ and is growing in
maturity of faith by following the examples of other Christians, in return, also becoming an
example to other people. We do this through building personal relationships within the church,
preaching and teaching of the word of God, and using the talents and gifts God has given us.
Colossians 1:28, Matthew 28:18-20

Missions: To make disciples, we have to be going out to areas within our communities and
around the world to reach people who do not know the Gospel. We do this through service and
sending people out financially and prayerfully to spread the Gospel through different means and
areas. Our chief aim is to make the name of God known throughout the earth and we do this
through missions.
Acts 1:8

Strategy and Structure
DISCIPLESHIP
Discipleship is the necessary foundation for the growth and development of our
church. We want to make sure that believers are being invested in and discipled. The goal
of discipleship is to walk with someone through the sanctification process. All covenant
members are expected to be part of a discipleship relationship that meets and does life
together consistently. We want to see this process replicated.

APARTMENT CHURCH
We took notice that in Brickell most of the time people never leave their apartments
and the few times that they do, is to go to work or run small errands. Most people that live
in Brickell usually stay in Brickell and never have to leave. Brickell is unique in that you can
live, work, and play, all within the same area. Therefore church on a weekly basis will be
held in the apartment buildings in the Brickell area. These apartment churches will
function with food and fellowship, tithing, worship, taking of the sacraments, praying and
discussion of the word of God.
Each apartment building will have at least two apartment church homes that will be
focused on reaching that apartment in particular. Each apartment home will have two
Missional community leaders. Preferably it will be guy and girl, which will bring diversity.
The preaching and teaching will consist of video teaching. Afterwards, missional
community leaders will facilitate conversation based on the message. All missional
communities will be focused on the same teaching and lesson plan.

CORPORATE GATHERING
We will be meeting on the first Sunday of every month together as a church. All
missional community groups will be together to worship, tithe, and hear live preachings.
We will be meeting in Simpson park every first Sunday of every month at 12 pm.

Leadership Development Strategy
Our leadership development strategy is integrated in our
church calling. We believe in REACHING leaders by identifying those
who want to serve, DISCIPLING them through proper training and
placement, and SENDING them out towards serving with their gifts
into all the world.

REACH
Missional Community leaders will identify and encourage those who have a
desire and ability to lead and serve. By identifying these people, the leaders will
reach out to those in our church.

DISCIPLE
The missional community leaders will then invest through discipleship to raise
up leaders. This discipleship process will include identifying gifts, abilities, and
calling. This process happens wherever life exists and will train and equip
leaders.

SEND
By identifying and investing in the lives of our church members, we can send
out those who are called to all areas of ministry in the local community and to
the ends of the earth.
