Study background and
purpose


Public university hospitals as the centrepiece of many European health
systems



Unprecedented challenges and opportunities from multiple
domains (technological, economical, human, social, medical, ...)

Purpose:
• identify and understand potential changes that may impact public
hospitals in Europe and how they are getting ready.


Time frame of approximately 15 years and tries to capture not only the
forthcoming changes that are on hospital managers’ agendas but also
underlying factors and drivers that may arise in the next decade.
