IMRF retirement workshop:
The Illinois Municipal Retire­
ment Fund is offering aseries
of free workshops. The two­
hour seminars, held in con­
junction with the University
of Illinois Extension Office's
family life educators, highlight
the benefits of goal setting, the
importance of self­inventory,
and the differences between
various types of bucket lists
and goals. Aworkshop in Oak
Brook will run from 10 a.m.
until noon Thursday, July 7,
at the DoubleTree by Hilton,
1909 Spring Road. Registra­
tion is required. IMRF retir­
ees can register online through
Member Access at imrf.org.
Non­IMRF members can reg­
ister by calling (800) 275­4673,
from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on
weekdays.

Music Mondays in Wheaton:
Wheaton Park District will

sponsor Music Mondays from
6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 11, 18 and
25 at Memorial Park, 208 W.
Union Ave. First up is The Chi­
cago Experience, aChicago
tribute band, performing on
July 11. On July 18, Sistah Beth
with Twist and the Groove
Machine bring more than 125
years of combined musical
experience to the stage. And
on July 25, Libido Funk Cir­
cus offers amix of different
tunes from the 1960s through
today. Music Mondays is orga­
nized by the district's summer
interns, giving them opportu­
nities to develop professional
skills in marketing, event man­
agement and sponsorship.

Road closureinLombard:
DuPage County's transporta­
tion division is remindingres­
idents of this week's planned

closure of the Highland Ave­
nue bridge over Butterfield
Road in Lombard. Weather
permitting, the bridge will
close for repairs on Wednes­
day. The bridge is tenta­
tively scheduled to reopen
in mid­August. Motorists are
encouraged to follow posted
