Child abuse can be defined as any type of cruelty imposed upon a child, such as
mental or physical harm, negligence, etc. and sexual abuse or exploitation.
Unfortunately, lots of such cases go unreported.
A child who has been abused may experience many problems which varies
like lack of trust of adults, performance at school, emotional outbursts, low
depression, anxiety, and anger. The harm must have been caused by intentional
acts, such as, allowing a child alone with a known abuser and negligence of
parents/guardians, leaving a child alone at home under a certain age, etc…
There are child protective services agencies which investigates such cases of child
abuse in addition to State Child Abuse Laws. Every state has a mandatory
reporting law that allows certain people such as medical staff, social workers,
school officials, and law enforcement personnel to report suspected cases to a
central authority via statewide toll-free numbers. The reports will be kept
