Rules and Information
1. Contest is open to all amateur bands residing within Region 8 and must be
Filipino Citizens.
2. Registration Fee is P1000.00 per band and is non-refundable under all
circumstances, including withdrawal from the competition.
3. Bands must submit 1 group photo for advertising purposes.
4. Project Band will be allowed in the competition.
5. A player will be allowed to be registered as a member for another band.
6. Registration period is from September 10, 2016 to October 10, 2016.
7. Bands who have been crowned as Regional Champion in any Battle of the Bands,
except those from October Hangover, will not be allowed to join.
8. Upon registration, bands must submit the line-up of their songs.
9. Each band will be given the opportunity to play 3 songs and the winners may be
asked to play an encore presentation so each band should be prepared to play 5
songs total.
10. Band members should bring their own instruments, excluding the drum set, which
will be provided by the organizers. However, bringing of own drum/percussion
instruments is allowed.
11. Band members are responsible for the security of their equipment. Longhair
Productions or any party/person acting on their behalf will not be held responsible
for any lost, damaged, or stolen equipment.
12. Playing time- A maximum of 20 minutes, and 2 minutes allowance for stage and
musical instruments preparation. The next minutes after the allowed maximum
playing time, 1 point demerit for every succeeding minute.
13. All bands agree to have their name, voice, and/or likeness used in any advertising
or broadcasting material related to this contest without compensation or rights to
royalties for such use.
14. All band members are required to be present at the holding area provided by the
organizers before the competition starts.
15. Competition will start at 7:00 PM on October 29, 2016 at the Municipal
Auditorium of the Municipality of Pambujan, Northern Samar.
16. Sound check will be on October 29, 2016, 1PM-3PM.
17. Winners will receive Cash, Certificates and Trophies:
1st – 15, 000.00
2nd – 10, 000.00
3rd – 5, 000.00
Our goal is to have a fun, safe and fair contest. Longhair Productions
reserves the right to make changes to the rules and regulations of the contest if
deemed necessary. Longhair Productions will have final word in any disputes that
should arise concerning the contest.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
Interface with audience – 15%





Verbal Interaction? Did the band introduce themselves at all? Did the band talk to
or with the audience?
Physical Interaction? Did the band physically participate with the audience e.g.
Eye contact, head nod, acknowledgments, waving, gesturing, dancing with the
audience or giving hand signals.
Confidence. Was the band confident in their interaction with the audience?

Quality of performance – 45 %






Confidence/Competence. Did the band look at ease whilst playing? Did the band
appear to be able to do what they wanted to do?
Set Dynamism. Did the band’s set list appear to play according to a plan i.e. was
it well constructed and able to manipulate the audience’s mood?
Stage Presence. Did the band use the stage effectively? Did the band appear
positive about their performance? Did the band interact effectively on stage? How
did the band cope with any problems they may have encountered?
Conformance to contest rules. Did the band followed the rules stated in the
contest i.e. time limit, profanity?

Presentation – 30%




Attitude. Did the band’s on-stage attitude appear suitable to their genre i.e. were
they ‘Punk’ if Punk, ‘Raucous’ if Rock?
Appearance. Did the band show personality on stage? Did the band appear to
enjoy what they were doing?
Entertainment factor/Showmanship. Did the band entertain? Did one or the entire
band display showmanship towards the crowd?

Audience Impact – 10%
