My wife and I started Phelps Composite Towers, LLC in
January of 2014. My wife owns 60% of the company and is 1/8
Cherokee by Heritage. She is responsible for all of the booking,
while I am in charge of all technical support. Our company
wishes to build two (2) two Carbon Fiber Aerial Platforms for the
Fire Service. The main goal of our products is to save as many
lives and property as possible.
Phelps Composite Towers, LLC will build a 100’ Carbon Fiber
5-section with an Aerial Platform attached to the end. We also
wish to manufacture a150’ Carbon Fiber 6-section with an Aerial
Platform attached to the end. Each of these products are revolutionary and offer to the Fire Service what no other competitive
manufacturer can provide.

No one to date has yet ever built a telescoping Aerial Platform out of Carbon Fiber, including the boom sections
No one to date can manufacture a 100’ Aerial Platform on
a single rear axle chassis, due to the limitation of steel and
aluminum
No one has yet to build a telescoping, six (6) aerial boom
sections including the Aerial Platform that can reach 150 feet
Both Firetrucks are built on very small chassis wheelbases,
(The 100’ is built on a 221” wheelbase, while the 150’ is built
on 230” wheelbase) which are ideal for having excellent maneuverability which is important to get into tight or confining
areas such as Condominium complexes, Apartment complexes, alley ways, etc.
Our trucks weigh significantly less than our competition,
12,000 pounds on the 100’ model and 25,000 pounds less
on our 150’ when compared to our competitions 100’ Aerial
Platform made out of steel or aluminum. This provides safety
regarding shorter stopping distances and less wear and tear
on the tires, brakes and suspension systems
Our Aerial Sections with the Platforms have a very high
strength to weight ratio
Our Aerial Sections with the Platforms can withstand temperatures up to 1,400 degrees, while our steel and aluminum
can only withstand up to 1,000 degrees
Our Carbon Fiber is 50% lighter then steel and 40% lighter
than aluminum
Our Industrial (Refinery, Chemical Plants) Aerial Platforms
can flow in access of 6,000 gpm, while our competition can
flow 4,250 gpm
The Phelps Composite Towers has a platform capacity of
1,500 pounds
The boom sections are made into a triangular shape due to
the fact that a triangle is the strongest shape in nature
Our waterways are completely enclosed for protection, while
the competition is completely exposed to potential damage
Our electrical system is completely enclosed, while the competition is completely exposed to potential damage
Carbon Fiber has 5 times the stiffness of steel
