Heart Lace Top

3,5mm circular needles (US size 4)
3mm crochet hook (US D)
I used a cotton acrylic mix worsted weight yarn.
400m / 438 yards
I'm really bad when it comes to calculating what size to knit but I'm a 79-82cm / 31-32" bust. If you
want to make this larger cast on more stitches by 12 to keep the heart pattern. I CO 168 so to make it
bigger CO 180 - 192 - 204 - 216 -etc. Same goes for making it smaller (156 - 144 - etc)

CO: cast on
k: knit
sl: slip
yo: yarn over
k2tog: knit two together
RS/WS: right side/wrong side
pm: place marker
st/s: stitch/es
rep: repeat
approx: approximately

CO 168 Stitches
Join sts to work in the round. be careful not to twist sts. pm to mark the beginning/end of the round.
Work heart lace pattern for approx 33cm / 13" (9 rows of hearts in my case). If you want your top to
be longer just do one or two more hearts.
End with a Round 3 of the heart lace pattern. (WS row)

decrease 12 sts. Knit 12 sts, k2tog. 12 times. 156 sts left.

divide into front and back. From now on you'll knit flat and not in the round anymore.
Back: 70 sts
Front: 86 sts
bind off the first 6 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows
bind off the first 3 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows

pick up 4 stitches at one of the front edges for the straps. Work in stockinette stitch until the strap is

bind off and sew it to one of the edges of the back.
Do the same on the other side.
Crochet edging:
I did one row of single crochet around so I'd have a clean finish to start the shell pattern.

finish by threading a ribbon through the top holes of the heart lace pattern. Tie into a bow in the front
