MEASUREMENTS

TO MAKE

Materials and instructions given for Storm Grey (102) sample alternative colour shown is Teal (182)
One size to fit a candle holder 9cm/3 ½in high 25cm/10in
circumference.

MATERIALS
• One 50g/1 ¾oz ball in each of MillaMia Naturally Soft Merino in
Pitch Black (100) and Storm (102).
• Pair each of 3mm (US 2) and 3.25mm (US 3) knitting needles.

TENSION/GAUGE
25 sts and 34 rows to 10cm/4in square over st st using 3.25mm
(US 3) needles.

With 3mm (US 2) needles and Storm cast on 66 sts.
K 1 row.
Change to 3.25mm (US 3) needles.
Beg with a k row work in st st.
1st to 4th rows Work from Chart.
5th to 16th rows Work in Storm if Swiss Darning – Work from
Chart if using Fair Isle method.
17th to 20th rows Work from Chart.
Change to 3mm (US 2) needles.
K 1 row in Storm.
Cast off kwise.
Join seam.

Black (100) (A).
• Small amount of Storm (102) (B).
• Set of four 2.75mm (US 2) knitting needles.
• Foam tennis ball or polystyrene ball.
• One black pipe cleaner.

TENSION/GAUGE
32 sts and 40 rows to 10cm/4in square over st st using
2.75mm (US 2) needles.

CASING
With 2.75mm (US 2) needles and A, and right side facing, pick up
and k 16 sts along row ends of left wing, k40, then k40 from right
wing, pick up and k16 sts along row ends. 112 sts.

Cast off.

EARS (make 2)
With 2.75mm (US 2) needles and B cast on 11 sts.
K 1 row.

MAKE UP

With 3mm (US 2) needles and Storm cast on 67 sts.
K 1 row.
Change to 3.25mm (US 3) needles.
Beg with a k row work in st st.
If Swiss Darning.
Work 2 rows Pitch Black, 16 rows Snow, 2 rows Black.
If using Fair Isle method
