Newark R&M C.C. is a
Clubmark-accredited cricket
club based in the beautiful
market town of Newark-onTrent. It has a long history at
the heart of the local
community, and a rich
collection of cricketing
highlights, including 21 major
trophy wins.

In 2016, we have fielded three Saturday teams
playing in the Gunn & Moore South
Nottinghamshire Cricket League, as well as
Sunday, Evening and Junior teams in the
Newark Alliance, Newark Midweek and Newark
Colts Youth Leagues respectively. We entered
two teams in the Nottinghamshire Cricket
Board Kwik Cricket Festivals. We also ran
training sessions, supervised by qualified
coaches, throughout the week for both seniors
and juniors, providing cricketing opportunities
for people of all ages and abilities.
The success of our junior cricket pipeline,
which ensures focussed support and coaching
for cricketers transitioning between junior and
open-age cricket has been particularly
promising. The establishment of our
‘Development XI’ has seen a new range of
opportunities opened to 13 and 14 year olds.

Development
In 2017, Newark R&M C.C. will enter an
exciting new era as it moves from Elm
Avenue and lays the foundations for a
second pitch at its home ground on
Kelham Road.
This pitch will provide self-sufficiency for the
Club, by bringing together all of its
cricketing functions in one central location
at the heart of Newark. Together with the
pitch, the development will include the
construction of new changing rooms as
well as a revamp of the Pavilion.

Newark & Sherwood District Council, the
W.E. Knight Trust and Newark Town Council
have already provided significant financial
backing. However, the Club is still seeking
sponsorship and support from other
partners to help ensure this opportunity is
realised in full.
Given the media attention this project has
already attracted, it is an excellent chance to
be associated with, and actively support,
positive development in the Town.
