Donate to charity with confidence
Before making a donation, you might want to conduct some simple research to find out
basic information, including whether the organisation is a registered charity.
To check if an organisation is a registered charity in Scotland go to the Office of the
Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) website who regulate charities in Scotland and
insert either the charity name or number in the search box. For Carr Gomm, insert

Charities Commission website and insert either the charity name or number in the search
A charity may be a company limited by guarantee. To check go to the Companies
House website and enter either the charity name or number (this number is different to
that issued by OSCR). For Carr Gomm insert SC236436.
For £1 you can request a copy of an organisation’s accounts from Companies House by
clicking on the link ‘Other Document Filings’ and following the instructions.
Note: accounts for charities registered with the Charities Commission can be downloaded
