The following grid determines the recommended math course for a student based upon the last level of
math completed in LCC’s BEdA program. (Please note that placement test scores in MyMathTest may
allow a student to start in a higher course.)

math level.
Placement in MATH 088/089 also includes the following courses:
MATH 087/097 – Essentials of Pre‐College Math II/III
MATH 105 – Math for Health Sciences
MATH 106 – Industrial Math
Non‐STEM includes the following courses:
MATH 210 – Elements of Statistics
MATH& 131 – Math for Elementary Teachers I
MATH& 107 – Math in Society
or MATH 98/99 to move to the STEM‐track
STEM‐track students are defined as those students whose major requires either Calculus (151)
or Business Calculus (148)
Placement into MATH& 141 also includes MATH 125 – Applied College Algebra
Students may use either the placement grid or placement test results to determine their recommended math
placement.
