Walk Backwards Into Hell

Inspired by the iOS game Monument Valley, this
piece was an experiment in isometric composition,
pattern making, and the application of Wada Sanzō’s
color harmony ideas.

Turn Everything On
I was prompted to illustrate
an episode of Radiolab
for this piece. I chose their
9-Volt Nirvana episode, and
abstracted lightbulbs into a
pattern-like treatment.

St. Anthony’s Fire

My BFA thesis work centered around a hallucinatory
vision experienced by society. A series of 5,
I restricted myself to 2 colors, and sought to

My main goal was to see
what sort of pattern-like
abstraction would result
from my response to a
concrete and definite idea.

Chess Series

A reworking of the minor pieces in chess. Each of
the them have masculine/feminine and passive/
agressive qualities. They yearn to have more power
than what they were assigned.

There is nothing quite like the megalopolis of Tokyo.
For this work, I zoomed in to Google Earth over an
area of Shibuya, traced the chunky approximations
of buildings, and reassembled them into a dystopian
beast. I was chasing after a feeling of uncontrollable
reproduction, painted in an unrestricted spectrum of
