Demonetisation in India and Big Data

In its fight against Black money and Corruption, India has gone for
demonetization. As we know that India is large Cash based economy and after
this process of demonetization is completed, 86% of currency notes (worth 14
Trillion INR) in circulation would be replaced. There are trillions of
transactions (both Banking & Non-Banking) happening and being recorded in
this process. Most of these transactions will be legal and in due course of law,
but there are scrupulous elements who are trying to hood-wink the entire
system. They are trying to push their ill-gotten money by dividing into many
small transactions. For authorities major challenge will be to identify such
illegal transactions from trillions of transactions recorded by various sources.
