Award winning choreographer/dancer Kari Hoaas leads
a 5-day choreographic workshop based on a philosophy
that recognizes individuality and questions the choices we
weight, clarity of movement, attention to detail, precision
the importance of breath and being grounded, dancers
work with initiation and arrival, visceral and organic
movement. Principals like support of the skeleton, the
movement patterns will be explored.
Diverse approaches to creating dance will be explored in
choreographic practice. Exercises of structure, resistance,
and imagination, to strengthen creative skills and trust in
Kari Hoaas is a choreographer, dancer and teacher.
Associate Professor at the Norwegian College of Dance in
Oslo, she spent more than a decade working in New York
City. Her work has been produced and presented all over
Norway, the Nordic region and internationally.
