ZENG FAN ZHI
Zeng Fanzhi,

born in 1964 in Wuhan, Hubei
Province, graduated from the Hubei Academy of Fine Arts
in 1991. Since the nineties of the twentieth century, Zeng
Fanzhi's creation with its unique language style and keen
social criticism, by the critics widely praised, but also by the
public attention of the public. At the same time, Zeng Fanzhi
participated in a series of important international and domestic
art exhibitions, including the first Guangzhou Biennale (1992),
Guangzhou Triennial (2002), Venice Biennale (2009) and
so on, and in Shanghai Art Museum, Suzhou Art Museum,
Singapore Art Museum, Bulgarian National Museum of Art,
France Saint-Etienne Museum of Contemporary Art and
other famous art institutions held a personal exhibition. Zeng
Fanzhi is considered one of the most representative artists of
contemporary China. [1]
In February 2014, the first French retrospective of Zeng
Fanzhi was held at the Paris City Museum of Contemporary
Art. The exhibition brings together 39 works by Zeng Fanzhi
from 1990 to 2013, including his most representative "mask"
series, such as "Mask Series 6" and the 2004 "Portrait" of the
work.
