Human resource management means managing the people who are working within the organisation and
outside the organisation.
The main role of the human resource is to build a cordial relationship among the workers in the
organisation and to see to it that no conflicts arise.
If any conflicts also arise between the workers then it is the responsibility of the Human Resource person
to handle the problem and sort it out very effectively and smoothly without having partiality.

Functions of Human Resource Management:
The functions of human resource management are been classified in two ways and they are as follows:
1. Managerial function
2. Operative function
The managerial function is further divided into few divisions and they are:

Human Resource Planning:

The first and foremost thing in human resource is planning, hence planning includes the number of
employees required to complete and accomplish the task, how much resources should be allocated to
carry out the work.
The current and future human resource need are also been forecasted in advance to avoid the certainty.


Organising means allocating the task to each and every employee and making them accomplish the task,
good cordial relationship should be maintained to keep the working environment very smoothly.


By allocating the work the job of the human resource does not stop, it is the responsibility of the Human
resource to direct, motivate and command the employee to achieve the goal.
Only an effective direction will make the employee concentrate on his work and increase the profit level of
the company.


After planning, organizing, staffing and directing the actual performance is been compared with the actual

plan in order to find the deviation and correct it.
Operative Function:
Operative functions include some of the categories and they are as follows:

Recruitment and Selection:

The right and appropriate candidates are been selected and trained.

Job Analysis and Design:

Job analysis means the description of the job is been dealt, the person qualification, skill to perform the
job given.

Performance Appraisal:

If the person performs the functions and activities given by the company then he will be appraised
If he/she works well for the company then based upon his performance incentives will be increased or
he/she will be promoted to a higher position.

Training and Development:

Training and development are given to the candidate who is not performing well and lack of the skill.
Hence for that type of people, appropriate training is given to increase their performance

Employee Welfare:
Basically, each and every employee working in the organisation will be
provided with the welfare facilities like ventilation facility, canteen facility,
medical facility, maternity facility and so on.
