Privacy Policy
Information we collect:
We collect information to allow us to analyze the use of our educational app. The goal is to
develop and distribute the best app to assist in the learning of family medicine procedures. In
the course of completing the surveys integrated into the app itself, we require you to provide
us with a valid email address, the level of your medical training (eg. 2​nd​ year medical student),
and your opinion as to how useful the app would be in a number of scenarios.
The app identifies where you are in the world when you download and install the app to
provide us with data as to its overall use and help us understand where exactly our app is used.
This information is obtained via the Google Play store. In addition, information on the sessions,
parts of the app used as well as location where it is used is recorded via Google Analytics
anonymously without any identifying traits as to the user. Your identity and location are not
accessed by the developers and researchers of this app. In summary, while we are able to
determine if the app was used in an area, we do not know specifically who used it in any given
location.
After 6 months or using the app, we ask that you provide us with feedback in the form of a
survey to again analyze the impact of our app on you learning process and to give us your
opinion on the usability of the app.

How we use the information we collect?
Proceducate is an educational app. While we ask you to provide a valid email address, that
information is stored securely and is not shared with other people including advertising entities
and app developers. The email address is used as a means of storing the collected data from
various time points so we can compare your answers over time. While we link all your answers
together over time, we do not look at the actual name and address of the users. Simply, your
information is used as a means to track feedback regarding the app itself, and to notify you of
any further surveys related to the educational component of our app. As is stated in our terms
of use section of our app, the email address is blocked from the people analyzing responses so
they are unable to link specific responses to a specific person. All information is stored securely
for 5 years and will then be destroyed by the principal investigator.

Transparency and Choice
As people have many different privacy concerns, our goal is to be open about what information
we collect so that you can make the right decision for you.

Review our Terms and Conditions periodically to refresh your mind on what we do and
what exactly is being asked of you. Your completion of the surveys provides us with vital
information which we will be using in various research projects and to enable us to improve the
app. You may, however, choose not to complete the surveys but we would kindly ask that you
do complete them. The app is free to use but was certainly not free to develop and we use your
data to further our research and thus obtain funding to continue this app.
Information we share
We do not share any information you provide us with any person(s) outside the research team.
We do not share your data with advertisers or other app developers.
