DAY 1: MON 11 SEP 2017
Arrive London
Welcome to London. On arrival at London’s Heathrow
Airport, you are met and transferred to your hotel near
Cobham*. This evening meet your Tour Director for a
welcome drink and dinner. (WD)

DAY 2: TUE 12 SEP 2017
Brooklands Museum – Brighton
Start today with a visit to Brooklands Museum, the
birthplace of motorsport and aviation with an in house
guide. The Brooklands Museum is on the site of the
world’s first purpose-built motor racing circuit and
displays a wide range of Brooklands-related motoring
and aviation exhibits ranging from giant racing cars,
motorcycles and bicycles to an unparalleled collection
of Hawker and Vickers/ BAC-built aircraft. Included
amongst the collection is the Second World War
Wellington Bomber, Viking, Varsity, Viscount, Vanguard,
VC10, BAC One-Eleven and the only Concorde with
public access in South East England. Continue to
Brighton for a three night stay. (B,D)

DAY 3: WED 13 SEP 2017
Royal Pavilion
The Royal Pavilion is an exotic palace in the centre of
Brighton with a colourful history. Built as a seaside
pleasure palace for King George IV, this historic house
mixes Regency grandeur with the visual style of India
and China. After our visit, the rest of teh day is at leisure.

DAY 4: THU 14 SEP 2017
Parham House & Gardens, Arundel Castle
Parham is one of the country’s finest Elizabethan
houses, complete with a Great Hall and Long Gallery.
Its tranquility and timeless beauty have changed little
over the centuries. We have a guided tour this morning,
followed by a visit to Arundel Castle. Set on a hill in West
Sussex, this great castle commands the landscape with
magnificent views across the South Downs and the River
Arun. Founded at the end of the 11th Century, it has
been the family home of the Dukes of Norfolk and their
ancestors for nearly 1000 years. We return to Brighton
where this evening is free. (B)
DAY 5: FRI 15 SEP 2017
Chichester – Portsmouth – Bournemouth
Depart Brighton and travel though Chichester to
Portsmouth. On arrival, visit the Portsmouth Historic
Dockyard and Port. See Henry VIII’s one true love, the
Mary Rose as you’ve never seen her before. Be wowed
by the stunning panoramic views of the ship from
all nine galleries and discover thousands of artefacts
recovered from the sea bed. Explore historic ships,
including Lord Nelson’s flagship HMS Victory, HMS
Warrior 1860 – the world’s first iron-hulled armoured
warship, and HMS M.33, the only surviving ship from
the First World War’s Gallipoli campaign. Continue to
Bournemouth for a 2 night stay. (B,D)

DAY 6: SAT 16 SEPT 2017
Beaulieu Car Museum
Travel to New Forest and stop in Burley, a traditional
New Forest village. Then continue to Beaulieu to visit
the National Motor Museum with an in-house guide.
From the earliest motor carriages to classic family
saloons, the National Motor Museum boasts one of the
finest collections of cars, motorcycles and motoring
memorabilia in the world. There are more than 250
vehicles to tell the story of motoring on the roads of
Britain, from pioneering origins to the present day.
Visit also Palace House, a beautiful example of a gothic
Victorian country home within the conserved ruins of
the medieval Beaulieu Abbey. Finally to Buckler’s Hard
where the exciting Maritime Museum and Buckler’s
Hard Story gives an insight into the history of this 18th
Century shipbuilding village focusing on its vessels
including those built for Nelson’s Navy. (B)
DAY 7: SUN 17 SEP 2017
New Forest, Stonehenge
This morning, we depart Bournemouth and travel to
visit mysterious Stonehenge – one of the wonders of
the world and the best-known prehistoric monument
in Europe. Continue through Mendip Hills to Bristol and
settle into your accommodation for a two night stay.
Dinner tonight at a local restaurant. (B,HD)

DAY 8: MON 18 SEP 2017
Bristol – Bath Free Day
A free day today to do as you wish. Perhaps a visit to
Bath to tour the Roman Baths and Pumphouse? (B)
DAY 9: TUE 19 SEP 2017
Cotswolds – Oxford – London
Enjoy the scenery as we cross the beautiful Cotswold
Hills, a chocolate box scene of golden stone villages with
roses round the doors. We stop in the charming town of
Bourton-on-the-Water before continuing to the famous
University town of Oxford. Enjoy some time to explore
on your own before continuing to our London Hotel. (B)

DAY 10: WED 20 SEP 2017
London Free Day
A free day in London today. Your Tour Director can assist

DAY 11: THU 21 SEP 2017
Royal Airforce Museum
Today is dedicated to visiting The Royal Air Force
Museum, situated on what used to be RAF Hendon.
It is Britain’s only national museum dedicated wholly
to aviation. With a world-class aircraft collection,
integrated with special exhibitions, films, interactives,
artwork, engines, missiles, photographs, uniforms,
medals and research and education facilities, the
Museum takes an innovative approach while keeping
with tradition. After a guided tour and plenty of time to
explore, return to your hotel. Tonight, dinner at a typical
London pub. (B,HD)
DAY 12: FRI 22 SEP 2017
London – Cambridge
We depart London today and travel to Cambridgeshire,
site of the Duxton Air Show. (B,D)

DAY 13: SAT 23 SEP 2017
Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show
Today, the highlight of our trip as we attend the Duxford
Battle of Britain Air Show. The Show brings to life
Duxford’s finest hour as an important Second World
War fighter station defending Great Britain from aerial
attack in 1940. Witness the majesty of a mass Spitfire
fly-past over the skies of Duxford, where history was
made during the Second World War. Get close to historic
aircraft and brave pilots taking to the skies above you,
following in the footsteps of ‘the few’ to whom so much
was owed by so many. Experience daring air displays,
dog fights, pyrotechnics and aerobatics. (B)
DAY 14: SUN 24 SEP 2017
Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show &
Duxford Museum
Duxford is home to the Imperial War Museum Collection
(IWM), The Fighter Collection (TFC), The Old Flying
Machine Company (OFMC), The Aircraft Restoration
Company (ARC), Historic Aircraft Collection (HAC), B-17
Preservation Society etc. The airfield itself is an historic
site dating back to 1918. There’s time during the air show
to explore the museum. (B)
DAY 15: MON 25 SEP 2017
National Memorial Arboretum
Farewell Cambridgeshire as we travel northwest towards
Birmingham. Stop at the National Memorial Arboretum,
home to over 300 thought provoking memorials, each
with a story to be discovered. The memorials are diverse
in nature, rich in symbolism and collectively represent a
broad population of society from military associations,
charitable organisations, emergency services,
fraternity groups and individuals. We then travel to our
accommodation in Birmingham for a final night. Tonight
a farewell dinner to celebrate our time in the UK. (B,FD)

DAY 16: TUES 26 SEP 2017
Farewell England
Your tour concludes after breakfast with a transfer to
Birmingham airport for your onward flight. (B)

Should you decide to arrive early, Goodwood Revival is being held
8th to 10th September 2017 (this is NOT included but and is an
option should you decide to arrive prior to the tour). Every September
the Revival recreates the golden era of Goodwood Motor Circuit,
between 1948 and 1966. View warbirds including spitfires take to
the skies. This extraordinary event, a theatrical and sporting drama,
assembles the most significant racing cars and motorcycles along with
legendary drivers and riders from the past and stars of today. Tickets
for this event usually must be pre purchased and are expected to sell
out by mid April 2017.
