READY FOR THE WORLD
NEWSLETTER OF THE 2019 WORLD ASSEMBLY
1 ST QUARTER EDITION • VOLUME 1, ISSUE 1
FIRST GREAT STEPS OF
THE WA2019 LOCAL
ORGANISING
COMMITTEE (LOC)
The WA2019 Local
Organising Committee
(LOC) held its quarterly
meeting on 25 February
2017 at Durban
University of
Technology (DUT). The
meeting adopted the
LOC and WA2019
Budgets. It also adopted
the WA2019
Fundraising Strategy.
The two documents
were developed by Sr
Mamodike and Br
Motseki. Keep up the
good work brethren!
This meeting took place in the same venue.
DUT reported that the new residence which
was under construction in 2016 has been
completed and now holds 800 beds. This is
one of the residences that would be used to
accommodate delegates during WA2019.
After the two meetings, the LOC conducted a
site inspection at Magic Pan Caterers premises.
We found it clean, spacious and well-resourced
in terms of hygiene, cutlery, equipment and
vehicles. Magic Pan Caterers provided morning
tea and lunch for the officials who attended
the two meetings.
Following the meeting, the committee then
met with management from DUT and Magic
Pan Caterers – the service provider subcontracted by DUT to
provide catering services
during the WA2019.
In the evening the LOC attended an SCO
service at one of the residences of the nearby
Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT).
This is where Br Motseki made a short
presentation of SCO and Br Stanley shared the
Word of God.

We would like to thank our SCO Associates
who have responded to the call to give towards the World Assembly.
form on GivenGain. For those who wish to
give via a debit order, kindly make use of our
debit order form.
We look forward to accelerating the fundraising initiatives as per the adopted fundraising
strategy in the next few weeks, as it can be
seen in the numbers that we still have a long
to way. For example, we seek to have 500 SCO
Associates give towards the conference and at
this stage the actual donations totalling
R43,000 were received from a total of only
four (4) SCO associates with 72% of the total
amount coming from one associate.
Be sure to write 'World Assembly' under
'Specific project’ as we use the same forms for
other SCO projects such as staff support and
provincial ministry work.
This shows the amount of work still to be
done. We have also added a World Assembly
campaign on our debit order donation plat-
We would also like to invite people who would
like to work with us as activists for the World
Assembly fundraising to come forward and
help accelerate this process. If that is you,
kindly drop us as email on the World Assembly e-mail address provided or call any of the
contact persons using the details disclosed in
this newsletter.
