HISTORIC HYDERABAD “THE PARIS OF THE PAST"
Pakistan Cardiac Society
• Background and History
Hyderabad the former capital of Sindh, 4th largest city of Pakistan and 2nd largest city in the province is home to
almost 2 million people and is also one of the oldest city of South Asia, located in south-east of the country.
Pakistan Cardiac Society was established in 1966 with the aim to enhance awareness regarding prevention,
early diagnosis, and appropriate management and updated treatment strategies in the field of Cardiology.
Since its inception the society has been conducting biennial and annual conferences to achieve its objectives.
There are city wise local chapters which play important role to create awareness in the general public about
Cardio Vascular Diseases.
Hyderabad Sindh has been the crossroad for various warriors, rulers and travelers, for that the city has been
benefited & suffered as well by the passage of time.
Pakistan Cardiac Society published its first journal with the name of "Pakistan Heart Journal" in 1968. The society
had the privilege to have distinguished National and International scholars to be part of it.
Like Athens, Rome, Istanbul, Baghdad, Damascus, Dehli, Cairo & London: Hyderabad Sindh also stands tall and
proud with full force of modern day hustle and bustle, telling the story of its past, present and future to every
visitor. It is also the Cultural Capital and Literary Capital of Sindh; a City of Artists, Artisans, Writers, Poets,
Politicians, Activists and serves as the Nerve Center of every mass movement in Sindh, It is also the city of
Saints and Sufis as hundreds of shrines are scattered all over the city.
47th Annual Cardio Con 2017
During pre-Islamic era Hyderabad was called as Neroon Kot, the word is derived from Sindhi language,
which means “Place of Neeron” ruler of that time.
Sindh River or River Indus in English has ruled and regulated Sindh and Hyderabad socially, culturally,
economically and politically. It has devoted the fate of Sindh and Hyderabad in war and peace times.
Hyderabad and Sindh are intervened to each other that Hyderabad is called the CULTURAL CAPITAL of SINDH
and it has always been the major transportation hub due to its central location in Sindh.
It is our immense pleasure to announce 47th Annual Cardio Con 2017 of Pakistan Cardiac Society. This conference
is set to be held from 24th -26th November, 2017 at Indus Hotel, Hyderabad. The conference will be catering 2
parallel sessions including plenary lectures, Clinical interactive case presentations, debates and poster
presentation along with parallel cardiology workshops. All Scientific Sessions would be recognized as part of
Continuous Medical Education (CME). The CME credit hours will be awarded to all the registered participants
who will attend the scientific sessions. We aim to set a Mega event for in Hyderabad City.
