Community Assistance Network, Inc. is a non-profit organization. Our mission is to work in partnership with the
community to develop, strengthen, and support programs that reduce vulnerability among the poor, as well as
promote growth, stability, and self-sufficiency of individuals.

SERVICES PROVIDED
WEATHERIZATION
The EmPOWER Low Income Energy Efficiency Program (LIEEP), administered by the Maryland
Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) helps low income households
with installation of energy conservation materials in their homes at no charge. These
improvements will both reduce a household’s energy use and lower the monthly utility bills,
and will also make occupants more comfortable and may improve the air quality and overall

COMMUNITY OUTREACH SERVICES
Providing support in your community, CAN has placed qualified Community Resource Specialists (CRS) in your area!
Are you struggling with your rent? We CAN help! Contact a CRS near you for an immediate consultation. For more
information call (410) 285-4674 ext. 123.
Prescription Assistance CAN
Remember to ask a CRS about medical resources and discount cards for prescriptions.

Rental Assistance
Don’t wait until the last minute. Are you falling behind with your rent? If you meet the income guidelines, CAN will contribute
funding towards your past due rent. Clients cannot be more than one month behind and will need to submit the necessary
information. Please contact a CRS for inquiries

After School Program
The Fontana/Rosedale Outreach locations after school program hours are 3pm-6pm. Activities include homework assistance, recreation,
and student service learning.
Financial Counseling
Community Assistance Network, Inc. has certified personnel to provide financial literacy counseling to clients, available
upon request.

HOMELESS SHELTER & HOUSING P RO G RAM S
CAN operates the Eastside Family Emergency Shelter in Rosedale and the Westside Men’s Emergency Shelter in Catonsville.
In order to be referred to one of the shelters, please contact Baltimore County Department of Social Services at (410) 8533000.

FOOD PANTRY
At CAN, we provide supplemental food to income eligible Baltimore County residents. The Supplemental Food Package is
meant only as a supplement and provides enough food for approximately 5 to 7 days.
Hours of operation:
Monday-Friday 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm.
Information needed:
Valid Identification, Social Security Card(s), Proof of Housing, Proof of Income for last 30 days, Proof of Baltimore County
Residency.
