It is often in the darkest days that we see the brightest stars
- Richard Evans
Friends, family and the gay community of Perth are coming together to support our dear friend and community icon,
Amanda Reynolds (aka DJ Milly), as she battles breast cancer for the second time. Amanda discovered she had breast
cancer four years ago and navigated a difficult and demanding treatment plan spanning many months until given
the all clear. Unfortunately, the cancer returned in September last year and Amanda has once again found herself
navigating her way through treatment.
DJ Milly has provided the soundtrack of our youth, with a residency at Connections Nightclub for over 20 years and
has given us all the gift of music, comradery, compassion and knowledge; now it’s our turn to do something for her.
We are organising a fundraising event at Connections Nightclub on Saturday 17 June to raise funds to support Amanda
during this difficult time. This is a ticketed event with amazing entertainment, food and drinks – much of which has
been kindly donated. We will be holding raffles and auctions on the night in order to raise as much as possible and we
are kindly seeking a donation from your organisation. Any donation that can be raffled, auctioned, or even combined
with other items, would be very much appreciated. We will promote you organisation through the following activities:
•
All sponsors will be recognised on the night and promoted on the event’s Facebook page with targeted
advertising;
•
Approximately 200 guests are expected on the night with Facebook advertising and promotion already having
reached around 4,000 people;
•
Event advertisement through OUTinPerth magazine and RTR FM.
If you would prefer to donate a monetary amount, this can be done through our chuffed.org crowd funding page,
with an acknowledgement through Facebook promotion. All proceeds will go directly to Amanda as this event has
been organised by a group of dedicated volunteers and friends. We hope you are able to help us and appreciate all
contributions, no matter how big or small.
This is a great opportunity to not only help a wonderful person in a time of need, but also be recognised as an ally of
the Gay and Lesbian Community.
If you are able to donate, please contact us by email on theressomethingaboutmilly@gmail.com or call Adele Varris
on 0413 243 724.
Thank you for your consideration.
