Ottawa Riverkeeper is committed to reducing waste wherever possible. As such, there is no need to
print your ticket. Simply provide us with your name for entry into the event.
There is no guest parking on Lemieux Island. Guest parking is located just a three-minute drive
away at Tunney’s Pasture (at the intersection of Parkdale Ave. and Goldenrod Driveway).
Complimentary valet parking sponsored by Star Motors will be available and shuttles will ferry you
to the Gala. At the end of the evening, Responsible Choice valet drivers will return you to Tunney’s
Pasture in luxurious Mercedes sedans.
If you are walking, biking, or being dropped off at the Gala, access the island via River St. Please
note drivers cannot turn from the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway onto River Street in any
direction between 3 pm and 7 pm – cars should instead access River St. via Slidell St. There will
be a drop-off zone for taxis, limousines, and Paratranspo on location. Please see the maps on our
website for more details.
The dress code for the night is "River Chic." Come in business casual or cocktail attire, weather
permitting. The forecast is calling for things to be a bit on the chilly side, so choose your outfit
with an eye for comfort. You won’t be out of place with pants, Hunter boots, a shawl, a pashmina, a
sweater or riverside rainwear. Please also remember that it’s a park, and the ground may be
uneven. There will be tents overhead and a coat check will be available for outerwear and
umbrellas. This information may change. Please keep an eye on your email or phone our Gala
hotline for the most up-to-date information regarding our dress code.
Doors open at 6:00 pm, with a performance by Keith Whiteduck, Emilio Wawatie, the Eagle River
Drum Group and the Kina Nimiwag dancers. Speeches and a live auction will follow, with Kathleen
Edwards and the Good Bones taking the stage shortly after 8:00 p.m.
Great food and craft beverages will be served throughout the night, so there is no need to grab
dinner before the event. Catering is provided by Thyme & Again, while fresh Beau’s beer will be
pouring all night long. A selection of wine will be available, courtesy of Huff Estates Winery, and
signature cocktails (designed with the river in mind!) will be available from Top Shelf Distillery.
We’re excited to celebrate the Ottawa River with you
at the 2017 Riverkeeper Gala. Join us on the grounds
of the Lemieux Island water purification plant, where
your last glass of water probably came from!
