Greetings,

If you are reading this newsletter during the Moose International
Convention, I’d like to welcome you to our Lodge. I’m sure that
after your visit you will agree that we are the “Friendliest Lodge in
Town”. I hope that you are enjoying our bands, karaoke, along with all our other events. I
highly recommend our menu from the kitchen. Don’t forget to get in on the 50/50 raffles,
“Pot Shots”, and our “Moose Milk” raffles. Be sure to purchase some of the memorabilia
items located in our display cases. We have lodge license’ plates, ball caps, earrings, key rings,
tee-shirts, etched glassware’s available. And you don’t want to miss our “Queen of Hearts”
drawing every Sunday between 2:00-5:00 PM, with live music all afternoon.
June has turned out to be an extremely busy month for our Lodge. I’d like to thank all the volunteers who came in for our Saturday work-day. Also to those who have spent the month at
the lodge painting, cleaning, and making repairs.
Our Officer’s Ball on June 24th was a great success. I’d like to thank Brother Ralph Johnson for
being our photographer for the event, the ladies for setting up the tables, our kitchen staff for
the fantastic dinner, our servers for waiting on the guest, our bartender Ms. Dorothy, and
“Pure Country Gold” for the great music. And a special thanks to everyone who attended the
Officer’s Ball.
I’d also like to thank everyone involved with setting up our electronic media information
screens located on both the Social and Hall sides of our lodge.
In closing, please remember that our LOOM General Meetings are the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays
of every month. Your involvement and participation in our meetings is what keeps this lodge
operating as smooth as possible.
Fraternally,
Richard Riddling

Congratulations
Buddy Franklin!!

Volunteers Needed: If you ever felt like helping others and didn’t
know how, we have the answer. Our lodge is beefing up our efforts to
support local charities and we could use your help. We need volunteers to identify those local charities that we should support. Then we
need volunteers to perform certain tasks on behalf of those charities.
You may be asked to assist from 2 hours a month. Either contact me
via phone/text or e-mail
(DavidADomino@yahoo.com). Give your name and phone number so I
can add you to our volunteer list. Dave Domino, Chairman of the Heart
of the Community Committee, (813) 391-2700.

“Moose Members Serving Then . . . and NOW!”
At the end of World War I and World War II our returning military were treated as heroes. Which they
should be. Veterans of the Korean (Conflict) War
were treated indifferently. In January, 1973, near the
end of the Vietnam Conflict, I separated from the U.S.
Air Force. Veterans of the Vietnam Era were treated
with disrespect. Cursed out, protested, spat at and
worst. For years my service brothers and I hid the fact
we served our country proudly.
Recently, Moose International has begun a program
to support ALL veterans, men and women. It began
with an indicator on your Moose profile to reflect you served. This trips a new, special veteran’s membership card, pin and certificate.
In addition, twice a year we want to honor a veteran who, today, through the Moose, is supporting local charities. I know if you are like me, you don’t want to be in the limelight. But please, to honor your
veteran brothers, especially our fallen brothers, apply for this honor. Forms are located outside the
administrator’s office door or you can call me at (813) 391-2700. Thanks.
Dave Domino
Chairman of the Heart of the Community Committee.
