Esther July

Time's precious- we've all realized this as we've been growing up. Irrespective of our ages, our weekends have
been so precious. Especially, when it comes to weekend getaways. Why not enjoy those 48 hours at it's fullest?
Make the most out of every minute with this planned yet, flexible and fum way to seize this wonderful
Choose a destination suiting your needs
Research ALWAYS helps! Look up locations which do not take much time to travel, maybe? Look out for
places according to your interest- ideas for night outs are always adventurous.
I've learnt this from experience- never travel places which you're not interested in. You'll crib about it forever,
spoiling our as well as others experiences and make it all sour.
Your trip can vary from an international weekend trip or, exploring a village too!
2. Save the date!
Ensure that wherever you plan on going, you better live it! Do get at least 2 nights wherever you decide upon
staying so that you can wake up fresh and enjoy your Saturday and a part of Sunday as well- something to look
forward to, right?
3. A getaway all by yourself?
Ever thought why you go on trips in the first place? Irrespective of whom you go out with, it's all about
bonding. Most importantly, it's about enjoying sometime all by yourself, helping you reflect upon what you've
done in the recent past. Clear out your thoughts for a sorted future.
Also, traveling solo is a big yes for not just the introverts but, for a real break as well- there's no better
company that YOU.
4. Plan an itinerary
Remember, back in school, our teachers provided us with itineraries? Why was that- just because they're
always organized? Well, no. It provides the traveler with utmost clarity with regard to why they're going where
and spending how much. Most importantly, helping you decide whether you're interested or not.
Plan out important details such as booking hotels, logistics, restaurants, tours, etc. It'll keep you busy and help
you learn a lot.

Optimize your time- prioritize your tours, historical sites and so on that are available for only a few hours- the
rest can be for restaurant reservations, wine tasting, etc.
Also, if you want an itinerary, it's always good to have a list of places you want to keep running to, helping you
include it in your customized itinerary! Best thing about it- doing your own research will help you know
yourself more and, you'll get to pick out the best from your list of options available.
5. Leave it to fate, maybe?
You can always go for websites like VoyageDay , Champions Yacht Club etc. and look up their blog- section
or their services. It'll help you read up bout the water sports , yachts, local bars, and so on.
However, sometimes, it's fun to be instinctive- don't you be disappointed. Spontaneous decisions too have
their beautiful experiences awaiting.
6. Please do get local recommendations
Stay flexible- ask localites about places which you may not be aware of- there's always something new out
there which you are probably unaware of. Don't skimp on your food and bed- live in good hotels, rooms etc.
First night, you can go for the place, restaurant which you've been dying to go. The next, maybe, go for the
local choice.
It's always been attracted towards collecting souvenirs from flee markets, localites- what's your traveling
driving force?
7. Make the most out of the time available
What's the point of renting a yacht in Goa and sleeping half the time? Get up early, stretch, go for a swim, go
fishing, zorbing, anything! Make the most out of your time- you never know how beautiful and mesmerizing
the sunrises and sunsets can be.
Just go-- Don't wait for your friends calls- they'll go someday- you pack your bags this weekend
and just live the lovely weekend coming ahead of you!
