How to Block the Unwanted Emails in Hotmail?

Unwanted or junk emails are annoying and also a potential threat. If you open any
of the junk email or its’ content, there are chances of personal information
breach. Junk emails are part of phishing scam. So, get rid of them as soon as
possible. Here are some methods you can apply to remove unwanted emails from
Hotmail email account.
Mark Emails as Junk

Open the official Hotmail sign in page (Hotmail is now Outlook, so you will be
redirected to Outlook official log in.)

Sign in to your account with your log in credentials.

Find the junk/unwanted email that you want to block. Tick on the box in front of
the mail. You can tick on multiple emails at once.

Now click ‘Junk’ option at the top bar of the mailbox. This will move the email to
junk folder.

This is not all. Right click on the ‘Junk’ folder and select the ‘Empty folder’ option
from the drop down.

You will see a pop up asking confirmation for deletion of Junk folder’s content.
Click ‘Ok’.

All junk emails will be deleted and the sender will be marked as a junk sender.
The above method will remove the junk emails from your inbox while the below
method will allow you to restrict junk emails from coming to your inbox.
Changing Block Settings

Sign in to your Hotmail account.

Click on the ‘Settings’ icon at the top-right corner.

Select ‘Options’ from the drop down menu.

Find ‘Junk email’ option in the left side menu; click it to expand the option.

Select ‘Filters and reporting’ option.

Click the radio button (circle) in front of ‘Exclusive’ option on the right side page.
Selecting this option will prevent emails from contacts that are not in your
contact list, pre-approved email address and scheduled alerts.

Click ‘Save’ on the top of the page.

This will reduce the number of junk emails in your inbox.
You can use both the methods, one for deleting the already received junk emails
and other for restricting the future junk emails. If any of two methods doesn’t
work in your Hotmail account, contact the official Microsoft support or post your
queries on tech forums. You can even take help from independent professionals
via toll-free Hotmail technical Support number. There are many such services
available online. Browse and select the best one.
