FINDS CONTEST. Bring your best
finds recovered between January
2013 and December 2013 and while
you were a member of the GCTC.
Categories will be: Best Platinum
Jewelry; Best Gold; Best Gold with
Stones; Best Silver; Best Costume

Winners of the 7 major categories
will each receive a silver half-dollar

Winners are decided by the same
voting system that we use for the
Monthly Best Finds Contest.

In addition to the Find of the
Year tables, we will have the
normal Find of the Month tables.
Finds for this group should be
items that were dug between the
November 2013 meeting and the
January 2014 meeting. This is a
good way to start the New Year
off right. Bring in all of your finds
and start collecting points toward
Hunter of the Year for 2014. You
can’t win if you don’t enter.

HOLIDAY PARTY
Our Holiday Party was held at High Point in Delray
Beach through the courtesy of Bob Dobski and his
community. Twas the party before Christmas and all
through the High Point Club House the decorations were
hung in expectation of the Gold Coast Treasure Club’s
members. The lights were on and the party did began!
The food was delightful and plentiful, not a tummy was
hungry after the feast! The Door prizes were plenty and
hopefully pleasing! Donations of gifts and time to make
our party a success were donated by Reilly’s Treasured
Gold, White’s Metal Detecting
Company, Kellyco
Treasure Hunting, Betty and Jerry Laur, Paul and Marge
Hamlin, The Petenbrinks, Linda Bennett, Gail and Steve
Hoskins, Nick Mosca, The Smith Families, the Pressleins,
Ed D’Amato, Laurie and Frank Nash, Bob Dobski and
me! Hopefully I have not forgotten anyone!
A BIG, BIG THANK YOU TO ALL WHO
CONTRIBUTED THEIR TIME, COOKING AND GIFTS
AND TO THOSE WHO HELPED WITH THE SETUP
AND CLEAN UP!
AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

ONGOING CLUB PROJECTS
Our club collects eye glasses, foreign coins,
miscellaneous items of costume jewelry/tokens/metal toys,
pull tabs, and empty ink cartridges. Give Jan Smirnow or
Linda Bennett your donations.

CHALLENGE LEVELS
Do you enjoy a good challenge? If so, then you should
join the quest to master the five challenge levels! This fun
program offers a coin reward simply for finding a specific
group of targets (much like a scavenger hunt) and showing
those finds to the hunt master (Linda Bennett).
For questions or explanations, come early to a meeting
and speak with Linda.

DUBIOUS AWARDS
Winners of these awards were nominated by fellow
members for their “dubious“ actions during the past
year.

 Jerry Laur received a box of Krispy Creme
doughnuts to tide him over to his next visit.
Locally, the nearest shop is in Ft. Lauderdale.
So that made the Knoxville trip for FMDAC
convention extra special. Jerry passed and
stopped at the shop 2 times a day going to hunts.
To his credit he did share with fellow club
members.
 Kathy Ayon demonstrated her uncoordinated
use of a competition basket with a scoop at the
Daytona Hunt.
Later that evening she
demonstrated her pole dancing moves which
looked a lot like her moves on the competition
field. She received a video on Pole Dancing
Instruction which will hopefully help her
develop better hunt techniques, get good
exercise and delight her fiance.
 Jan Smirnow is in charge of all raffles. Her last
raffle took forever to determine a winner.
Actually it was more entertaining. So it was
suggested to pay for bingo cards instead of
tickets and the winner will be the first person
who covers a card. A bingo game was her prize.

WINNER OF THE BROKEN SCOOP AWARD
By popular vote, Jan Smirnow received the honor of
winning the Fifth Annual Broken Scoop Award..
Jan will have to display this award in a prominent
place at her home until the next Holiday Party in 2014.
Hopefully she will be able to pass along the award at
that time to another member.
The scoop was donated by Kevin Reilly of Reilly's Treasured
Gold, Inc in 2008.

.
