January’s meeting featured all the Best Finds of 2009,
as well as Monthly Best Finds. VP Stacey deLucia
recognized Linda Bennett’s years of service as Coeditor of the newsletter and said she’s sad to see Linda
retire from that role, as “Linda did all the heavy lifting
by handling the photo layout – which is NOT easy – and
so much more.” (Editor’s note: Thank you, Linda, for
helping when I ran into problems with the photo layout
of the 2009 Annual Best Finds in this issue!) Stacey also
thanked the members for donating more than $2,000
during the past eight years to Home Safe.
Secretary Jan Smirnow asked members to please
bring in pull tabs for Ronald McDonald House. We’ll
use those pesky tabs in a fun contest later this year.
President Mindy Spiroch thanked Linda Bennett
and Betty Laur for bringing in the “GCTC provided”
refreshments and Tom Lieberman for bringing the
Mystery Item, a picture hanger. Tom stumped us again!

UNSUNG HEROES 2009
Hunt Master Linda Bennett presented the newest
annual award, the “Unsung Hero” Trophy, to Paul
Hamlin and Gary McNew in recognition for returning
the most number of lost items to their rightful owners.
The impressive trophy, which features the names of all
members who returned items during 2009, will be on
display during future meetings. We salute ALL of our
Good Will Ambassadors for their service to others!
In the tear drop where smoke may get in your eyes
look in the middle of the 3 oaks.
In Buttonwood Park off Lantana Road you will
find a treasure trove.
Go straight thru the park and do the roundabout
and find yourself a place to park and get out.
The treasure is hidden near the big pavilion.
The sidewalk winds around and around and there
the treasure can be found.
Now all you have to do is REREAD the last clue!
Item buried is a small vitamin container 2 3/4" long and
1 1/2 " in diameter. It is placed in a Ziploc® bag.
Burial of cache and the clues are provided by Cheryl
Petenbrink. If found by a club member, that person will
receive a $25 prize AND earn the right to bury the next cache!
Good luck everyone! Start digging! Please fill all holes!
Please bring any newsletter errors to editor Stacey deLucia’s attention.
