Good Will Ambassadors Performing

Random Acts of Kindness

IN MEMORIAM - RAY LEIST

The GCTC recognizes members who provide selfless
service to our community. The first time a member returns
an item, that individual receives a metal detecting pin
(handcrafted by Steve Hoskins) to wear on his or her hat,
in addition to a Certificate of Appreciation. Future returns
are recognized by additional certificates. Kudos to all club
members who go out of their way to return items to their
rightful owners. WTG to all of our “Ambassadors of Good
Will” for enhancing the public’s perception of our hobby!

REPEAT AMBASSADORS
Returns Recognized at May Meeting:

Stacey deLucia and Paul Hamlin
Paul returned a set of keys to a tourist from Hawaii
who worried how he’d get home without them.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Ray
Leist, President of the Central Florida Club and a key
organizer of the Great Southern Beach Shootouts in
Daytona Beach, lost his battle with Cancer on June 4,
2010. Those of us who were fortunate enough to have
known Ray will remember his twinkling eyes, his
welcoming smile and his love of Bingo. Our thoughts and
prayers are with his loving wife, Lonna, and their family
during this difficult time. Condolences may be sent to:

Lonna Leist

Tom Dankowski DVDs
Stacey deLucia
Stacey found a total of THREE cell phones on ONE
rainy beach day, and she was successful in returning two
of them to their rightful owners. She hasn’t given up yet
on returning the third phone.

2010 MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY
The directory is for the personal use of members only.
Names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses are to be
used only for contact within the club. Please notify Jan
Smirnow (jbsmirnow@att.net) with changes, errors or
omissions. Remember to check your directory for alternate
addresses for snowbirds who flew home for the summer!

Wally Swartz from the Suncoast Research &
Recovery Club wrote to Linda Bennett to get the word
out about Tom Dankowski’s latest DVDs. Go to the
club’s website www.srarc.com and click on the
"Dankowski DVD" button under “Navigator” for more
information. The DVDs are available as a 2 disc set
(topics: relic hunting & beach hunting) for $16.00. If
paying through PayPal, add $3.50 S&H; if paying by
check via mail, add $3.00 S&H.
Wally says that the 2 discs, which total nearly 4 hours
of very interesting viewing time, grew out of presentations
Tom made to his club. Tom is a renowned expert in the
field of metal detecting technology and has been a popular
speaker at GCTC meetings and other clubs and events
throughout the state.
