What is National Metal Detecting Day?
The GCTC will once again welcome our friend,
technical genius, author, instructor/lecturer and treasure
hunting expert Tom Dankowski to speak to our club.
Come experience Tom’s presentation on beach hunting
tips and secrets. Tom has made DVDs on the subjects of
Inland Coin Hunting, Relic Hunting and Beach Hunting.
Those who have viewed Tom’s most recent DVD or seen
him speak know that he is a fountain of knowledge and an
enthusiastic teacher. Hopefully he will have his DVDs on
hand for those of you who are interested in purchasing one
for your library. He also now offers personal one on one
training with your metal detector. Check out his site for
Minelab has declared May 19th, "National Metal
Detecting Day"! This is a day to celebrate our favorite
pastime and hobby with friends and family.
Minelab is kicking off the first annual event with
sponsored hunt events in six major cities throughout North
America - one of those cities will be Orlando and Kellyco
will be hosting this free event.
Hear from experienced treasure hunters, authors, and
experts in the metal detecting hobby! Learn FREE tips
from the pros to help you find your own treasures. Guest
speakers for the event will start at 10am on Saturday, May
19th. Below is a list of the guest speakers and factory
representative Minelab Americas “Rob Freeman” Director
Dave Spencer: MD Tuning, Care, & Maintenance
Rob Freeman : Minelab products, new trends and
tricks of the trade.
Complimentary food and beverages will be catered at the
NOTE: There will be NO pre-meeting dinner get
together at Park Avenue BBQ in Lake Worth this
month, as we will be instead be meeting with Tom
Dankowski prior to the club meeting at Cracker Barrel's
Restaurant in West Palm Beach. All members are
welcome to join us for dinner (at your own expense, of
course) at 5:30 p.m. If you are planning on coming, please
call Linda Bennett at (561) 352-4068 or email her at
firstname.lastname@example.org so she can confirm the number
of seats upon her arrival at Cracker Barrel. Will be under
the name of the Club

Directions to Cracker Barrel: I-95 to 45th Street. Go west
on 45th. Turn left at first light which is Metrocentre Blvd.
Follow Metrocentre to the end of the street.
