AUGUST MEETING

AUGUST CLUB HUNT

Gary McNew will surprise us with a short program. This
will allow a long break time to enjoy our yearly ice cream
social and have time to chat and catch up with friends.
Thanks in advance to Gary Spiroch for volunteering to
stump us with an unusual “Mystery Item.”
A big thanks to the years that Cheryl Petenbrink kept
tabs on our club library. A new volunteer is needed. Please
contact one of the club officers if you are interested.
Mindy Spiroch has volunteered to help with the monthly
best finds. This is greatly appreciated by the hunt master.

Ben Smith will be hosting a planted hunt with prizes on
Saturday, August 18. Since the hunt field will be under the
bridge at Phil Foster Park - there will be plenty of shade.
Come at 8:30 am for coffee, OJ and donuts. The hunt will
start at 9 am. Please no pulse induction machines, coils larger
than 12" or competition baskets. If you plan on coming and
can't be at the meeting for the sign up sheet, then email me to
let me know.

CHANGES IN MONTHLY BEST FINDS will be discussed
at the next meeting - this will include how Treasure Hunter
of Year will be tabulated and changes in second place
prizes.

Directions to Phil Foster Park
I-95 to Blue Heron Blvd. Go east on Blue Heron for estimated 4
miles. Cross the bridge over the intracostal. At the bottom of the
bridge, turn left into the park.

Early Birds can meet for breakfast at Cracker Barrel
on 45th Street at 7am.

OPEN COMPETITION HUNT

CURRENT RAFFLE
The latest Club Raffle is a Morgan Silver Dollar (donated
by Ed D'Amato) and 1974 Mint US Coin set (donated by Al
Schwartz). Spots are $1 each. Only 17 of the fifty spots are
left. Get your spot(s) before they are all gone!

The Daytona Dig & Find Metal Detecting Club will be
holding a open competition hunt on the night of August. 25.
See page 2 for more information. Registration is required by
August 11 deadline.

JOIN US EARLY AT P.A. BBQ!
Join fellow club members for dinner in the back room of P.A.
BBQ at 5:15 p.m. before the meeting. Dutch treat!

Mark you calendar for Saturday, November 3 for a tri club
hunt hosted by Treasure Coast Archeological Society. Our
club along with the Central Florida Metal Detecting Club
have been invited. For more details, see page 3.

CONDOLESENCES

A free Swim Guide app for Iphone and Android devices is
now available at the App Store and Google Play. The main
purpose is the keep check of water cleanliness of beaches
and includes South Beach and beaches in Palm Beach County
and Broward County.

Sympathy goes out to Nikolay Malchev for the loss of his
father on July 13. His Dad lived in Bulgaria and was able to
see his newest grandchild only by Skype.

Treasure Coast Archeological Society
Florida Tri-Club Jamboree
The Treasure Coast Archeological Society is hosting a special hunt for you.
Since The Central Florida and Gold Coast Metal detecting clubs are major supporters of our annual
hunt, you are invited to a special appreciation hunt.
Even if you never have been to our big annual hunt but you’re a member of your club, come have fun
with us. Meet new friends, tell some tall tales; put faces with those funny screen names you see on the
Internet.
We will host 2 different hunts.

First we will have a “Great Buffalo hunt”
A few hundred Buffalo nickels with some foreign coins mixed in the keep it interesting.
Keep all that you find!
Then after lunch we will have a token hunt for prizes. 1 token with be for a brand new

Garrett AT PRO
You must be wearing a shirt with your clubs logo or your club issued name badge.
Bring your own food or drink. Grilles are available in the park.
This is not a moneymaker for our club, just a big get together for all to say “Thank You”

Cost is $5.00 per person to cover cost of prizes.
November 3, 2012.
Starts at 9am At Hobart Park in Wabasso. The same place we have our annual big hunt.
