Job posting: Student Life/Academic Advisor, Maple Leaf School – KPU
Maple Leaf Education North America is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Student
Life/Academic Advisor to join the team at our new school in Richmond, BC. Maple Leaf
School – KPU is the second school in the China Maple Leaf group to open outside of
China and is located on the Richmond campus of Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
Our new school enrolment includes 50 students coming directly from our Maple Leaf
International Schools in China. Our students live in local private home-stays throughout
the community. The Student Life/Academic Advisor reports to the school principal and
will support students in their transition to Canada and to the school; will supervise the
students in daily self-study periods; engage students in activities; and provide academic
advising on university choices and application processes.
Location: Richmond, BC
Start date: August 28, 2017, full time term to June 30, 2018 with option for extension
through 2018/19 school year.
Salary: $40,000/year
Requirements: university degree in education or social services or similar discipline,
experience with high school student supervision, familiar with North American postsecondary university admissions processes, fluently bilingual English and Mandarin.
Must be Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident or hold valid work permit under
PGWPP. Special consideration will be given to alumni of Maple Leaf schools in China.
