Lawson Delaney welcomes David Chuter to discuss the challenges and
opportunities faced by the Australian manufacturing industry in the 'fourth
industrial revolution'. David will highlight the approaches needed as we move
into an ever increasing digital world, and the importance of innovative business
models, leadership, talent and skills.
David Chuter is the Managing Director and CEO of the new Innovative Manufacturing Cooperative
Research Centre (IMCRC). David's career spans more than 25 years in manufacturing, both in
Australia and internationally. He is passionate about local industry and creating a stronger platform
for the wider Australian manufacturing sector through catalysing investment in innovation,
collaboration and competitiveness.
The IMCRC is a Federal Government initiative which has a mission to help catalyse the
transformation of Australian manufacturing through collaborative investment, research impact and
innovation, working in partnership with manufacturing businesses, research organisations, industry
associations, and the government. David is an experienced senior executive with a strong industry
record in leading strategic business growth, operational management and change in the
manufacturing sector.
