Finding Forest School at Fort Dupont Park
If using a GPS, the best destination to enter is “Fort Dupont Dr SE”
Once you are on Fort Dupont Dr SE, keep an eye out on the south side of the road for
the entrance to the Picnic Area. (This will be on your right if you came from Minnesota
Ave / Randle Circle. If you came from Fort Davis Drive, it will be on your left – you will
see a Do Not Enter sign for the exit first, then the entrance will be another 1000 feet
ahead.)
Turn in to the picnic area, and immediately take the right fork. You should see some
parking spaces just ahead as the road curves. That is the trailhead where we will
meet.
Park at the trailhead if spaces are available. If that section is full, continue along the
Picnic Area road and there are many other parking spots at nearby picnic areas. You
can then walk back along the road to meet us at the trailhead.
