PORT ADELADIES ONCE A MONTH SOCIAL CLUB
Hi most of you either know me Chantelle or Cheryl. I wanted to explain a little
about what I am doing and why I have invited you. I have lived in this area for the
past 17 years and have noticed that compared to other councils Port Adelaide
Enfield has very little activities or social groups actually in Port Adelaide. They have
community centres in Kilkenny and Enfield but nothing that is appealing for women
in Port Adelaide.
As I have gotten older I have found that we as women wear so many hats that we
start to loose who we were before we had kids and partners. We became experts in
snot bowl motions and all foreign body's that inhabit our children and partners or
perhaps we have found ourselves a little lost as our children have gotten older and
had children of there own you have become the walking Bank of England or
babysitter on call
on occasion have you asked God, Jesus Christ, Allah, Buddha, Mother Earth, Ra or
any higher power that is listening to just have a shower or use the bathroom without
hearing MUM or HONEY. Don't forget to add head chef in chief cook domestic
goddess (polite way of saying slave)oh and the only person who knows that
apparently the vacuum and mop are not death machines that shoot laser beams or
if touched by anyone else except the wife will cause your appendage to fall off. And
let's not forget working a full time job because everyone knows all the other things
you do are for love right LoL.
So I ask you are you still the same person? do you take time for yourself?do you
have time to catch up with friends or make new ones how about trying something
new.
I know I don't so I want to do something about it. I want to start a women's social
group that meet once a month and do different things for example sample I've never
done Scottish dancing why not get the port Adelaide caledonia group to come teach
us what about a formal cocktail party but not just any formal I'm talking op shop
formal. Have a mixologist come and show us how to make cocktails and mock tails
how about trivia nights with a difference these are just some ideas.
What I want to do is have some fun make some friends I am inviting you to get
feedback about what people think about this idea and what kind of things people
are interested and if the idea is worth perusing. I am having a combined body shop
and jewellery party for something to do but no one is obligated to buy anything.
what I am asking is if you want to get out the house for a few hours grab a couple of
friends a bottle of wine and a plate of food come over meet some new people and
