INTRO ACCOUNTABILITY
WORKSHOP WITH MAI'A WILLIAMS
INTRO ABOLITIONIST TOOLS & VISIONS
WORKSHOP CONVICT CRIMINOLOGY
REHEARSAL PUBLIC EVENT
PUBLIC EVENT / PARTY
CLOSING SESSION

In this seminar, we will
critically analyze ‚security',
that allows the mass
i n c a rc e rat i o n o f h u m a n
beings by the imagination of
a risk immunization and
withdraws us from building
safety based on the lived
experiences and knowledge
of survivors of violence.

Carceral based solutions
often fail, exclude vulnerable
people, generate secondary
traumatization by failing
support, discrimination and
dehumanization.

As these stem from the work
and experiences of Women*
of Color in the US, we will
critically translate them to
our contexts and combine
them with critical prison
studies to engage locally.
Since the hegemonic
imagination of prisons in
G e r m a n y i s p re v e n t i n g
effective critical interest in
what is happening beyond
the walls, we will also
investigate around events
such as the current suicides
in Berlin prisons, connect
with ex-/ incarcerated people
and Convict Criminology.

We will learn to dismantle
stereotypical narratives /
representations and network
with activists from various
backgrounds.

Linking intersectional
perspectives, we will analyze
Cultures of Confinement and
their function in our current
time with a focus on
Germany to network, nurture
dialogue and praxis that
enables harm reduction.

Asking, what would make us
safer, we will learn about
account- & response-ability
concepts and experiences of

Community Accountability /

Transformative Justice.

Due to the massive lack of
critical academic and activist
engagement with prisons, I
kindly ask you to register
o n l y, i f y o u ' l l a c t i v e l y
participate, be present to the
dates and willing to give
marginalized voices and
abolitionist perspectives
space. Free entry & tea!
