AVAILABILITY SEARCHES
We recommend conducting a full similarity search prior to applying for registration or commencing the use
of a new trademark. Only a full similarity trademark search may provide some certainty as regards the
availability of a trademark.
There are two types of trademark searches: mere identical searches and full similarity searches. Mere
identical searches reveal prior trademarks that are identical to the search criteria, but not the often highly
relevant similar trademarks which often differ from the search criteria in no more than one single character.
BENELUX, FRANCE, GERMANY or GREAT-BRITAIN

WATCHES
By monitoring a trademark, you will be notified of new applications for trademarks that may conflict with
your prior trademark and against which you may want to take action. Monitoring a trademark allows to
avoid in an early stage a conflicting trademark from disturbing your market and affecting your rights.
Depending on the geographical extent of the monitoring service, we distinguish four types of watches of
word or figurative trademarks:

Worldwide:
Europe:
European Union (28 member states):
Benelux, Germany, France or Great-Britain:
(including International Registrations and EU trademarks)

The aforementioned amounts cover the monitoring of a word or a figurative trademark in one to three
classes for a period of one year with an electronic report of the retrieved later trademarks. There is a
surcharge of 20% for each additional class from the 4 th but with a maximum of 200%. Classes 42 to 45 are
considered as one class.

The costs for a trademark application include the basic cost for filing the application, the transmission of communications from the
administration, obtaining, checking and sending the publication of the application and of the certificate of registration for an initial
period of 10 years. Additional costs may be due for the advice we give concerning filing strategy, the list of goods and services, etc.
The administration and sometimes the holders of prior rights can formulate objections against the registration of the mark. The
handling of such objections will also entail additional costs the amount of which will vary depending upon the services to be rendered.

A domain name is not an Intellectual Property Right but the use and the registration of a domain name may
interfere with trademarks. DCP also offers domain name administration services but technical aspects
pertaining to domain names (name servers, hosting, ...) do not belong to our core competencies.
Our tariffs are mentioned in the above table. The amounts indicated are for the registration or the renewal
of a domain name for an initial or an additional one year's period.

These tariffs are valid as from July 2016 and may be changed without prior notice.
The amounts are in EURO and without VAT.
