TEAMWORK
Each member of the group played an equally important role in the Scrapheap Challenge, with everybody
taking turns to fulfil tasks accordingly. This includes selecting components, ensuring a clean and tidy work
area, troubleshooting for faulty components or difficulties encountered during the build and preparing the
presentation.
Preparation
Items used: CPU, motherboard , 2 x RAM, PSU,
optical drive, HDD, 2x SATA cables, case,
Windows 7 disc , monitor, keyboard, mouse,
ethernet cable, wrist bands, mat, screwdrivers
(and miscellaneous tools).

clean each components before
assembling the computer to
prevent overheating which
would damage the components
and reduce the computers
lifespan
FAULT
When the motherboard
was inspected visually it
was found that the pins
on the CPU socket were
missing. This component
was subsequently
replaced for a none
faulty motherboard
instead.

into the IO shield and
resting it on the risers.

paste to the CPU to
provide better
conduction between
the heat sink and CPU.
